Help! I may be taking an impromptu trip to Manchester. What is my best chance for getting tickets to a United home game if I get shot down (as I expect) when I call the ManUtd ticket office? Also, How difficult is it to see the first team practice or to observe the youth academy? Thanks.
Depends on the game. If you are willing to pay $$, brokers always have tickets available. If it's not a big game, it seems to be easy to get tickets outside of the stadium. I cannot vouch for the reliability of the sellers or the quality of the seats, but when I went to a game vs. Leicester City, I noticed plenty of folks offering tickets for sale.
become a member Spend the extra money, become a member and apply for tickets to the game you want to go. Chances are you will get tickets. Let the ticket office know you are an american and want to take in a game. The seem to respond well to yankiees coming over for a geme.
for rudeboy thanks for the info.. I'm already a member and was hoping this would give me a little juice when I called for tickets.
Hey Guys!!! I am only 14 years old but I made the U-15 SuperClub National Team and this summer I get to take a trip to Manchester! I get to go to Old Trafford and get to walk through the tunnel onto the pitch and meet some of the team. I get to watch two professional games including one of Man U's games and get to play junior teams like Man U junior team! It will be awsome!!! Can someone tell me what it is like in Manchester??? Aaron
Congratulations! Way to go! Never been to Manchester, but wanted to send my congrats! Have a good trip, since it seems to be a dream come true!!!
Congrats to all you folks headed to "Mad"chester! I was over there this summer, and unfortunately it was after the season had ended. But luckily I got to take a tour of the stadium and museum, and it was definitely very cool. Don't be put off by people telling you that Manchester is full of crime and filth. It's actually a very modern town, and I didn't feel unsafe at all. Lots of pubs and other assorted nightlife if you're into that sort of thing. Take the tram to the Old Trafford stop, and ask for directions to the stadium, which isn't too far a walk. Hope you folks have lots of fun!
Re: for rudeboy Yeah, just watch the website for when the tickets became available for the game you want. Remember they are six hours ahead of us so you need to get your application in quickly. I applied for my tickets and had my first choice selected in 5 days. then I just happend to catch the Maccabi game that same week in the luxuary suites because a friend had season tickets that he couldn't use. Pretty nice.
If you live in the US and want to get tickets to see Manchester United, you should join the Manchester United supporters club USA. Here are the details. Link: http://www.muscusa.com/home.html CLUB MEMBERS ENJOY ACCESS TO: Match Tickets Official MUFC Merchandise Official Supporters Club Merchandise Official Videos Manchester United Monthly Magazine Annual Branch Trips Tours and Packages To Old Trafford
You could do that, but it is cheaper to just get an actual ManUtd (which is way cooler anyways) membership and tickets directly. The us supporters club only has limited tickets and they are a first come first server type drawing. Why pay $75 for a MUSA membership, take your chance at getting tickets, when you can pay $45 and take your chance via manutd? Because if you don't get a us supports ticket this is what you have to do anyways. Not to mention you get all the same gear from manutd as a member as you do the us supporters club.
Well done,JFC...I hope you enjoy your trip to my home town!I'm a City fan myself, but I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself at O.T.I also hope you get to visit Maine Road...I know that City aren't as popular over there as Utd but I'm sure you'd be impressed, you'd be made VERY welcome,as I'm sure you will at the "other half"! Congrats again!! BTW,USsupport,I'm posting you a PM!
Thank you!!! It will be a trip of a lifetime im sure!!! I can not wait!!! The trip is during the summer!!!
Look forward to seeing you this summer then! Lets not kid around, Manchester was a mess. Then the IRA bombed it. Now its been totally overhauled. Looking really good. Its THE place to take a city holiday now, apparently. Just get your parents to stump up the money, the UK is more expensive than the US in general, especially London. Manchester is not as bad, but still not on the cheap side. Apart from all that, you'll have a blast!
Tell you what,D_78,it won't bother young JFC but have you seen the price of a pint in town now!!! You're right about the city improving, but would you want to holiday here!!? The beaches are crap!
That be true young sir, though a cheap pint is available if you know where to look. I dont need to holiday in Manchester, I live there. Though a recent announcement by Travel Britain (trendy name for the British tourism thingy) listed Manchester as the 2nd most popular short break destination in the UK, behind London. Though I dont like London. And this is not the forum to let me vent my spleen on that issue.
