I just got the idea to go to Portugal this summer. I'm not interested in going to any games, just hanging out and drinking Port and eating seafood and taking a couple hours each day to watch soccer in the local pub.

Anybody know of any laid-back towns/villages in the north (Braga or farther) that would be good for a week or so?

Has anybody been around one of these events before? Do the hosting towns empty out (with drops in prices/increases in vacancies) after their matches are finished? I won't be there until they've all moved on to Porto and Lisbon.

The only essential is a village pub with a TV.

Sadly, the logistics of before and after won't let me just go and figure something out- always my preferred method of travel.
