That's NOT the official roster. That's Goff's prediction.

The official roster will be announced Sunday.

I had a feeling it would be Davies over Adu.

He's been in camp and has been in form, and I'm sure he did well enough to impress the staff.

Goff does seem to be a reliable source though.

Thats not the official roster. I love Adu, but Im not sure if hes getting the playing time he needs to play in such a big game. I have faith in Bob Bradley to assemble the best team for the match.

If that ends up being the official 20, I can certainly live with it... :)

Yes.. it's not the roster.. I messed up.

I feel like Peter Gibbons in the first scene in Office Space when he screws up on the TPS reports and has to hear about his mistake from like 20 different people.

I hope the Mods lock this thing up soon

Adu not making it is a shame. I would have included him and played him as a 75th minute offensive sub.. if needed

While not the official roster, it is more or less what I expected.

I was going to mention what Barca wrote about Goff saying that Adu didn't make the cut.

I think this is the roster.

Hopefully this is a wakeup call to Adu that he needs to stop wasting his time listening to the Monaco coach telling him he might be about to play. And actually move to a team with a coach he can work with. (Not a president who guarantees marketing deals)

the prediction is really a no-brainer. The only debateable points here is beasley's inclusion and I think Goff got it right by predicting a call-up

FWIW, Altidore is already in Columbus. Not sure about the rest of the group.

makes sense since Xerex's coach said he wasn't traveling with the squad for today's game, but is there a story or picture?

Can't believe Adu didn't get called in? Davies better than Adu? Really? WTF has he done for the USMNT at any time?

I really thought Adu needed a confidence boost and Bradley has helped out other players before like Josh ********ing Wolfe! But Adu is not good enough? Not even the camp?

Davies was shit in the last game he played. I really think this is a shit way to treat one of the players that that will make us a great team in the future. There better be a good ********ing reason he wasn't called in .

I don't even feel like watching the game now, Bradley is an idiot and should be fired as soon as possible. He lost Subotic and now he wants to lose Adu, what a piece of shit.

We are not good enough to be letting players like Adu just flap in the wind aimlessly. I'm glad Adu's leading the USyouth team in the U20's, Olympics, etc.. to so many great victories brought him a lot of loyalty from the US soccer coaches. ******** Bradley!

Why does he hold Adu to a higher standard than the reast of the players who got plenty of call ups when there ass was riding pine? Including Dempsey, Bocanegra, Beasley, Pearce, etc... the list goes on. Smells fishy to me. The sooner we get rid of this charlatan the better.

I bet you Dos Santos and Nery Castillo starts too. Both of them haven't played at all this year. Why does Dos Santos get called in and Adu doesn't? Somebody explain this shit to me?

As for Adu, simply being nifty is not going to be enough to land him a roster spot in vital matches. He's not particularly fast for the position he plays, not tall, not strong, and not fierce. But, he IS nifty.

And -- to be clear -- at times, there IS a role for that sort of player. But the reason we've dominated Mexico in recent years is because our athleticism and attitude -- certainly not on the basis of being artful. Now, Eddie Johnson has amply demonstrated that foot speed by itself does not a player make. Intangibles count for something.

If the decision came down to Davies vs. Adu, it likely came down to speed AND an assessment of intangibles.

I agree here...unless there's a reason we all don't know Bradley is being a piece of crap by leaving off Adu.

He's one of our better players period...any coach that can't see that isn't paying attention.

Adu wouldn't make the bench, so why fly him in? With the time Adu
s played with Monaco, Torres is a better option, and Adu's not really a forward. Its not Davies that took Adu's spot, its Torres and Clark. Until Adu playes more meaningful professional matches, I have no problem with that-its nice that the US dosen't have to rely on someone who hasn't played at all in lots of positions for a key match against our biggest rival.

Goff's prediction seems to be a very real possibility. Sucks that Adu won't be playing but his lack of time on the pitch at Monaco is really hurting him right now.

You're talking gibberish. He isn't playing with Monaco. Bob Bradley said a while back that he was holding a camp so that the MLSers, who are not playing games week in and week out, could get some fitness under their belt. Why would he call in a European guy that's not playing?

And before you mention Beasley or Pearce, we have no other options at those positions.

A HEX game against MEXICO is NO TIME for a CONFIDENCE BOOST. Adu is languishing at Monaco and he needs to get out or get back home or something. It's also the reason I expect Bornstein to start over Pearce.

Think of it this way-Davies plays for a club in Europe and does well. Torres plays for his club in Mexico, and has done well in International Tournaments to boot. And Ching has been nothing but the solid veteran. At this point, considering the importance of the game, I take any of those three over Adu. Adu hasn't been playing for awhile, and right now is an unknown quality. You don't risk Hex points on what you don't know about. This level of risk-taking is what got Arena canned.

Pardon my toilet humor, but the Hex is long and hard, and you will get screwed by it if you are caught unprepared. Likewise, Adu will have his chances in the Hex, but now is not the time.

Agreed. If you call in Adu, you may as well call Grover Gibson into camp.

As for Beasley and Pearce, it's a shame because I expected Rogers to perform better but he looked dreadful against Sweden and as such Beasley will start. Bornstein played well so I think he starts and Pearce gets on the bench.
