WOW-12,758??? On a nice cool Saturday night?? We had 17,321 for the opener.

KANSAS CITY got 16,000 for their game against Columbus. KANSAS CITY!

Boo'ing is a last resort before people start leaving. I figured after the first horrible home match people would start not coming. After this second home match, we played great for the first 15 minutes-then what.

After 3 years of no playoffs, after 2 games of scoreless soccer, the league may have gotten parity destroying DC United. But they've eroded a lot of the DC fan base in the process. 18 draws out of the first 38 games so far. JUST ABOUT HALF OF ALL MLS GAMES ARE DRAWS! And Columbus and LA just got creamed in a CONCACAF competition vs Mexican teams. And only what-3 home teams won their games?? How's that gonna help the fan base? If this is "parity", who can't say that "parity sucks". Give me one MUST SEE team in MLS that gives people a reason to get Shootout.

Sorry for taking it a little off topic.....another great report by Goff waiting for the quotes

Quaranta said, "No one is getting down -- we know the goals are going to come. If we could've just gotten one goal early, we would've won 3-0 or 3-1. It's going to happen, sooner or later."

    Or reading Rongen's post-game quotes circa early-2000.

A fouls a foul. Call it. I was in the nest and couldn't see what happened with Kovalenko/Obrien and no replay on the Jumbotron. The early foul on Q1 looked like a foul in the run of play and on the Jumbotron. What you're saying is the ref missed two calls. Maybe Hudson should be pissed, I am at the competence and level of professionalism shown by MLS refs.

That was one time, and it wasn't malicious. We were getting hacked all night.

I agree. I watched the replay a few times and Kovalenko didn't do anything Keanesque. O'Brien was just unlucky on the play. I thought the Irish were supposed to be tough anyway ;)

It was a late, stupid, reckless challenge, and it shouldn't have been made. The fact that similar, though not as injurious, tackles were made on us does not excuse it in the least.

Look for the annual article on Monday about Etch threatening to leave the league because of the poor quality of the officiating, and citing offers from the English First Division, China and the UAE.

The sad thing is that the team is stringing passes together. They are attacking. They are getting in scoring position, they are just not getting the final shot off.

If the game was football, United probably would have had 4 or 5 field goals.
