From Steven Goff's latest notebook in The Post: "...Ryan Nelsen will be sidelined two to three weeks after spraining his left ankle during Saturday's 4-2 preseason loss to the Columbus Crew in Miami. Defender Brandon Prideaux also will miss at least two weeks after injuring a hamstring." Thanks Steven.
I hate to see those two guys go down. But realistically Prideaux isn't slated to start so I think that has minimal impact. As for Nelsen, we know we need to cover for him so this allows us to find out Hudson's thinking about d-mid when Kiwi is out of town.
Carroll or Stokes chance to shine.......................... BTW- To clarify in Stokes case moving Ivanov into D-Mid and Stokes playing in central defense
I think Namoff moves to D-Mid. Obviously I have no idea what really happened in Miami but it does not seem Ivanoff is the answer to our d-mid problem. Personally I'd like to see Reyes get a shot at it.
Except, of course, that he's the depth guy in case somebody like Nelsen goes down. Fortunately, it's still a month until the season starts and these guys should be back in form by then.
That's what I was thinking. As long as Nelly and BP's progressed isn't slowed down too badly, this might not be too bad as it gives the 2 young guys a little more experience possibly.
