Honestly, if this match was on Sat. night or Sun. night, I'd pay up. For an early Aug. day game, I'll wait and see what the Doppler Radar Love Weathergirl says. Come on, over the past three years they've been knocked out of Champions League by Liverpool, who are owned by Americans, and by Arsenal, who aren't even in the English Top 3 tier anymore--they're down with Fulham and Everton and those other Britclubs that get put on the waiting list of potential MLS All-Star game opponents.

Goff: "While RFK would offer superior atmosphere, FedEx was chosen because of a comparable rent agreement, larger seating capacity, private boxes, the opportunity to pitch the game to the Redskins' massive season ticket holder list and better stadium amenities."

"middling Euro contender", good one! They may actually win the European Cup next year with Kaka and Christian Ronaldo running the flanks... Redskins fans may not go to MLS, but they know "stars" and may come out just for the entertainment value...

Re: Goff exclusive: DC United vs. Real Madrid, Aug. 8 In 1989 I went to the Bernabeu in the middle of August, I asked the attendant if I could take some pictures of the stadium where Italy won the Mundial in 1982; he said OK, so I started but after 30 seconds he wanted me out, so I started changing position on the stands, he had to run behind me for half the stadium size before he could actually kick me out
