Sadly I'd say this ability to land big friendlies probably has more to do with the big European teams wanting to make a marketing splash in the money that drives US sporting cultures and have a bit of a vacation while not sacrificing too much of the intended 'pre-season preparation' by playing a squad the quality of St. Brutus' School for Wayward Amputees' U12 team. The wins in the CONCACF and Inter-American cup were well earned though through a tournament structure (although those aren't necessarily immune to the $$jackwarner$$ effect either I guess...)
I suppose you're one of those people that thinks the US win over Spain and the 3-2 match vs. Brazil (which without a total collapse in the 2nd half was ours) was a fluke too right? While the US is not yet at the level of European soccer, it's not as far away as many thinks. I guess old stereotypes die hard.
Does anyone know if there are going to be many Barra Brava fans at the Real Madrid match? I'm in the BB section 133. I know it's just a meaningless friendly but it's going to be a good time. If nothing else, it's an excuse to drink beer and watch soccer!
Can't give you an exact number but we're selling tickets at a pretty good pace. I expect we'll sell out soon.
For those who ordered directly from DCU's sales reps, have y'all received your tickets for the 8/9 game yet? If not, anyone know when we can expect to get them?
Great, thanks. I just called and it appears that they either forgot to run my credit card or misheard my number and didn't inform me that the number was wrong. It's all good now. I think.
