I just found out that the upcoming US vs Mexico match will be on Telemundo at 6pm my time (Los Angeles), on a Wednesday. I'm usually on my way to college at that time of a Wednesday night. In fact, I missed the game against Bolivia because of that. However, the April 2 Wednesday will be "research night"... in reality, the professor is giving us the night off because the he is taking his son to Vegas for his birthday. So that means, I'll be back to living "la emoción del fútbol"! P.S: I'm Enrique... aka Dusky... I've been lurking for the past few months... more so these past weekends. I was born in southern Mexico (Guerrero), and I have resided in Southern California for more than half of my life (I'm 24). On regards to soccer, my greatest desire is to see Mexico regain its place as the king of CONCACAF... to keep the gringos (not meant as an insult) from talking more smack. If you think Mexico is still the best team in CONCACAF, please put me on your IGNORE list and let me know so that I can put you in mine... I don't want to deal with those still living in the past... the American players have pulled positive results against our team, lets give them more respect than that.
Praise God for giving you the opportunity to see El Tri get its ass kicked yet again by the US! Hallelujah!
Mmm, check out the warm welcome that a member of BigSoccer just gave me through a private message... http://www.duskyspad.com/images/halfnelson31.jpg If kids make-up the majority of posters at BigSoccer, I'll be out of here sooner than... mmm...
No, see the thing I was thinking is if I moved to another country who were willing to take me in and give me a better life, especially when I have lived there most of my life and spent my childhood there, that would be the country I would root for. But then again, some of my best friends back in high school and the guys I play soccer with are the same way: fans of Mexico, citizens of the U.S., because they were born there. This isn't a flame. It's just something I couldn't understand.

Univsion shows them live as well during oficial matches at away games. Once in a blue moon is it on PPV. How long have you mean watching Mexico? If you have been here in the US half your life, and been a follower..you should have known that that games are always live. BTW, what class? It owuldnt happen to be PE would it? P.S: I'm Enrique... aka Dusky... Thats interesting..wouldnt be Quique or Kiko? I'm rdl aka Zepilludon I've been lurking for the past few months... more so these past weekends. I was born in southern Mexico (Guerrero), and I have resided in Southern California for more than half of my life (I'm 24). ok..what part? Be on the look out. we may have an intruder who may take many different forms.. a sockpuppet if you will
You'd have to be an immigrant yourself to understand. If you were to move to Mexico, do you think you'd become a fan of the Mexican National Team and learn to dislike the USA? I doubt it. Go ahead and ask non-American fans of the USMNT if they'd root for the USA over their birth-country. I'll be surprised if they say they do. I'll be even more surprised if they are Argentinians and Brazilians, for example. They'd have to be crazy... plain crazy. Now, if most of those people who'd root for the USA over their birth-country are Central Americans, Africans, Venezuelans, Bolivians, Equadoreans, and "Caribenos"... well, what can be said?
I became a follower sometime between WC94 and and Copa America 1997. Hmm, must have been after Copa America 1995, because I don't remember watching that. As to the games always being LIVE, nah... wish you were right, though! Hehe. Urban Education (ELPS 207) at CSUN. San Fernando Valley... five minutes away from Universal Studios Hollywood. Just one? Seems like more, man. I really don't want to deal with kids... I work with a bunch of them. I'm a teacher assistant at an elementary school... 7.5 hours of them per day is more than enough.
Okay, I just read a thread that was started by Levante and came across this: Which can be translated as... Nope, don't know him, and I'm glad I didn't. I'm all for the cause... ridding the board of trolls.
I can vouch for Dusky. I recall him from the AOL message boards and he was always a voice of reason there so I suggest people lay off him and instead welcome a new poster to this forum.
Thanx Martin, I still don't see what it is about what I wrote that led these people to think I'm here to ruin their fun. Anyway, I started this thread because I felt fortunate to be able to catch a Mexico friendly in US ground, which as far as I can remember are usually played midweek... at a day and time I'm usually in school. But not this time, I thought, because I'd have no school on the Wednesday of the match. Well, it turns out that the game is not going to be played on April 2nd in Denver (as I understood from reading a thread here at bigsoccer)... but instead it's going to be on May 8 in Houston (as I'm sure you all know)... a Thursday... life is still good, no school that day. Hmm, I went by mundosoccer.com and according to their calendar, a date has yet to be confirmed... P.S: Yeah, get off my back already, people...
If you thought I was on your back, you misunderstood me, but if I'm not one of the ones, then forget I wrote this. Like I said, most of my friends who watch soccer don't even support the U.S. even though they're citizens. I'd just never asked them why. Glad you get to see the game. This is the stuff you'll get from BigSoccer. English, Americans, Mexicans, and Koreans (mostly) making fun of each other's teams. It's all in fun, for the most part. I hate the Mexican team, but not Mexicans. Welcome.
Thanx for the welcome, lctar. I'm actually game for a lil disagreement here and there, all in good fun. I just want to keep myself away from arguments led by kiddies; or adults who act like them... even if they are countrymen of mine using that tactic against the rivals. In fact, back at the USA board in AOL there was this Mexican-American guy who'd frequent the USMNT board just to bash the hell out of them (does ONEMTZ sound familiar, Martin?)... if there was anything positive out of losing to the USA, it was knowing that this kid needed that kind of results to bring him down to earth. I'm all for sticking to reality...
I have not yet come to the point of disliking the USA National Team. I don't think I'll ever reach it. I just know that when Mexico plays them, I want Mexico to win. When they are not playing Mexico the USA can win all the games they want... won't hurt me one bit. As to the people... I'm koo with Americans, except for those who don't handle victories well. Call me old-fashioned, but I believe people should enjoy their victories without poking fun at the followers of the losing team. I have been on both sides when it comes to USA vs Mexico matches, albeit the last few years things haven't gone so well for us Mexicans, hehe.
any one endorsed by martin is cool welcome here dusky! here at this board we are kind of paranoic about new comers, since the last 8 were sockpuppets of a real jack ass! you are cool - your IP was checked and lets talk futbol in any way. the moderator
