I will say straight off this is not my usual cup of tea. The singer can sing, which is nice, but the songs are not floating my boat. IMHO the sound is little too purposefully retro. I'm getting a The Strokes, Rainbow, The Hives, Mudhoney, etc. vibe.

I know what you mean and it's heavily influenced, but whats retro about the strokes, the hives or mudhoney? don't you mean the ramones or mc5?

God Gave....I laughed my ass off when I first heard Kiss do a Petra (???) song. A couple of Jewish guys from Brooklyn with face paint covering a half talented Contemporary Christian Rock band. Go figure.

That song was originally done by a band called Argent in the early '70's, not Petra or whoever you're talking about.

When I saw the title of the thread it reminded me of this Jon Stewart joke: "Please stop f'ing up everything black people give us. They gave us jazz, we put out Kenny G."

But not a bad effort, not my thing, but not bad.
