Last year, mlsnet put up videos of every goal the day after the game, but so far they haven't done it this weekend, and they didn't archive the ones they had up last week... Are they not going to do them, or I am i just being impatient?
Probably being impacient. There is still a game to be played tonight. Last year they released them all together by weeks. I would assume that they will put them up tomorrow.
MLS videos i've heard that MLS will be restructuring its Internet operations. we're likely to se them offering a pay service similar to MLB condensed games.
OK, but why not go ahead and put them up now until they roll out the service? Some of us want to see 'em!
Re: MLS videos like i'm going to pay to see the goals? what are they insane? it's hard enough downloading the things for free, computers can be a bitch..i'll just stick to the highlight show i guess.
tbey're on FoxSports You can check them out here: http://foxsportsworld.lycos.com/named/FSW/Soccer/MLS/showPage Pretty cool interative feature. They also have a 'Saves of the Week' link, but it looks like that will start next week.
Re: tbey're on FoxSports I've got a "404 Not Found" message whenever I've tried their Goal of the Week link.
I can't download the goal movie files from MLSnet. I have Win XP and I am running Windows Media Player 9 (the latest version). Clicking on the link opens an asf file (a Win Media Player playlist file) whick has sound but no video. Right-clicking and saving to my computer does no better! Can anyone else see these movies in Windows Media Player 9? If so, help! (I haven't tried the Real Video version because I don't want to have 10 different movie and song players on my computer)
eurojack, i had the same problem. no video just sound on WMP. i had to download RealOne Player- and even still the video lags and stalls and is super-high quality sh!t. i got a 56k modem but still, holy jesus everytime i try to get the Pat Onstad own goal it stalls on the picture of the corner kick JUST BEFORE, and on onstad holding his head in his hands just AFTER, and it drives me crazy. wish i'd caught MLS Wrap, dammit, no more of these crappy goal videos for me.
Wow. I have to say I'm very impressed. Instead of the usual one pass, goal, quick replay, often with crappy highlight style editing and closeups - the ones I've looked at have been over a minute long with the full build up. Very nice indeed.
IS there any way to download this files to your machine? I have tried the whole "right click and save as" thing but it doesn't work with these files. This is unfortunate, because if you have a 56k modem (which is still the majority) it takes a ton of time to download the file. If you want to see it again, you have to download the entire file again. Can I find these files in my internet cache, once I have played them in WMP 9? Thanks in advance.
They are nice, but in the never-satisfied-with-anything mentality that so many of us engage in from time to time, last year they not only showed goals, but great saves, red cards and other important plays. But the Multimedia page looks great, the clips are well-put together, and the ability to vote for GOTW is nice.
Click Here Quicktime movies. There's a couple of Metro clips and Veronica's half time piece on McBride. They can be saved to your hard drive.
The more I watch games and even these little vidoe clips of MLS WITH NO SOUND, the more I realize the level of play in MLS is pretty darn good actually. Great goals this week.
Very impressive. This is the first time I checked them out - the layout, picture quality, sound - its great. The long buildup and replays. That's quality stuff. And the goals this week aren't too bad either.
Good idea but... did I mention that I'm using a 56k modem? These files are friggin' huge (12 megs). It keeps showing in the progress bar that it will take 3 hours to download. I think I'll spare my time and download the entire EA Sports FIFA catalog instead.
Works for me, and good thing too. There were a hell of a lot of great goals--all three of Chicago's, Etcheverry's for DC, and Kreis and TT in NE v. Burn. Way to go, MLS.
