That's because this is a run-and-gun version of the Metros defense be damned.

I see a lot of Pepto in my future

hard to pick the best goal, especially from a game like this, but i'd have to go with glenn's backheel, thats something you don't see everyday.

all the metro goals were quality, but ruiz's flip during the run of play will probably earn him goal of the week. ALOT of quality goals this week in MLS!

The only great thing about Ruizs' goal was that he kept in the play. Glens goal was awesome. Im sure all will see it soon enough, but he let the ball go through his legs, then side/back heeled it in. Very technical.

I know what he did and how much skill it takes to put that ball in near post at that angle,,,,BUT I am saying that the general public will see that Ruiz got up-ended and vote for him,,, same reasoning why we will probably see ruiz's goal on sportscenter and not glen's goal.

You are both right. While Glen's goal should definitely earn goal of the week honors for the skill required to pull off such a shot, the general public, being the bastards they are, will say, "OOOOOOO Ruiz did a sumersault and still scored!!!" So what if he scored, they were winning anyway! I feel the American public should look more the the skill required to pull off a goal as opposed to knowing how to roll properly.

Well, not the skill involved, but the effort that he put in to score that makes Ruiz's goal special. The general public will like the fact that, despite the challenges that he had to fight through, he kept going and scored. Its the type of play that we praise Woly for whenever he scores for us. And with the gerneral public thinking that soccer players dive too much and fake injuries (Rivaldo's WC moment, Guevara's towel flick), Ruiz's play last night shows how soccer players can play tough as well.

Really, there were a bunch of goals that were great from games yesterday. I really don't know which one I would choose. Glen's backheel flick was pretty, but Vaca's goal is the one that, on initial viewing I think impressed me the most with its incredible power and placement. And then there was Taylor's goal which I grew to appreciate the more I saw it for the way that is seemed to move back and forth in the air. Just amazing finishing all around. Entertaining match to watch.

In the end, in any vote, probably Ruiz's goal will win because a) Ruiz is a more well known name among people who will be voting and b) All the other goals were scored by Metros, and that will split their vote.
