Any thoughts/opinions? I'd prefer it if they were based on skill and technique, as opposed to their meaning. So Rose's goal V L'Arse is better than Crouch's 'in off his face' effort V Citeh.

    Some really amazing ones;

    Rose V L'Arse (Thunderbolt)
    THudd V Bolton (Thunderbolt)
Niko V Citeh (passed it to himself past a Citeh defender)
Niko V Bolton (Gudjohnsen dummied the pass)
Defoe V Man U (overhead kick)

    Other nominees might be:
    Modric v. Burnley (pure awesomeness)
BAE v. Liverpool (he'll never score another like it)

Not such a fan of the thunderbolts myself. Prefer things like:

Modric vs. Everton after passing sequence between 3 Croatians
Pav volley from a tight angle vs. Fulham
Crouch backheel for his hat-trick vs. Peterborough
Pav vs. Leeds, interchange with Defoe

    So many good ones.

That's the one that sticks out in my mind for a nice goal that had a bit of everything. Thought it was against Stoke though, unless I'm having a woosh moment, which is more than likely.

I know this is slightly bending the rules, but my favourite 'Spurs' goal of the season was JD's goal for England against the Netherlands in August.

Looks simple on first glance but the three touches he took from the halfway line to the back of the net each had to be perfect and required exceptional technique.

And here's the video for those who don't remember it:

Gudjohnsen scored a fantastic goal as well... can't remember against who, but it was a beautiful control off his chest, while running at pace, then a deft finish into the top corner. Anyone remember that one?

Defoe had a great one against Hull early in the season when we scored 5 against them. Someone held it up for him and he smashed it in for the hattrick.

Just watching some highlights and was reminded of Bale v. Chelsea. The way he completely dismantled Ferreira and scored the goal with his RIGHT foot was awesome! (and it was v. Chelski)

Modric v Everton. A borderline impossible goal to get up and over Howard from that area. Just oozed class.

It's obvious, but I have to go with Rose. Just the perfect combination of wonder, improbability, and importance. It's the goal that got that incredible last run going, from an unlikely player, from an unlikely spot.

It would be a contender in any match, but at that time of year against THAT team ... I still daydream about it.

The first song is DeVotchKa, forget the title of it though. The second is Sleepyhead by Passion Pit, and the last song is Giving up the Gun by Vampire Weekend.

    No, you were definitely right.

I'm positive that was the final goal in the win over City in stoppage time.

BAE against Liverpool. A sign of things to come and a goddamn rocket, to boot.

Saw an EPL season review today - Rose's goal was #2 in the top 10 goals of the year. 1st was Figueroa's from the halfway line vs. Stoke.
