Pattern plays in the past (or the opposite...) included much more solo efforts than these days, thats my impression.
Ok, so I guess you mean he considers all the goals scored in games they played in effect, and you knock it down a bit to account for time off the pitch (in theory another way would be to consider just the goals when they were on the pitch, although then again if a team is scoring a lot when the player has left the pitch maybe that can say something else too). I feel like another column for non-penalty goals plus assists %, and even another for non-penalty goals plus Opta assists %, can be good (at one point they were your main criteria I think, but at least showing them along with the overall wide % can be informative I reckon still).
This excel has all the matches with non-opta assists, I don't have the pre-assists https://www.mediafire.com/file/e0lpgz7xsata3hk/Cristiano+Ronaldo+all+official+games-1.xlsx/file For the pre-assists I think Carlito86 is working on that
Yes, exactly. Since I don't have the exact data for goals scored only while the player was on the pitch, I always use g+a per 90, which more or less adjusts for players with fewer minutes per games played. Yeah, when I started counting non-opta assists, it seemed fair to also count penalty goals. I could have one column for (non-penalty goals + opta assists) and another for (goals + all types of assists)
Yes, I guess non-Opta assists includes penalties won so being in the same category with penalties scored makes sense I think. Then it is open play (plus free-kicks) with one method and including consideration of penalties (and various rebounds etc) with the wider method I guess. I mentioned before I know, but for non-penalty goals plus opta assists my preference is to only look at open play (note: minus penalties I mean of course) goals scored by the team too (without penalties scored by team-mates factored in when working out the contribution %).

I was reviewing this a bit, and it seems that the user who made the count of Cristiano's clutch goals made several mistakes. I started checking, and between 2012 and 2014, he counted 100 goals and 11 clutch assists, but I have 106 goals and 12 clutch assists. He has a total of 435 clutch goals, but the correct number should be around 450-460. So, sorry for that error, it wasn't mine, but I shared it trusting that it was correct On the other hand, it was another user who counted the Non-Opta assists, and this data does seem reliable to me, he counted about 76, while the website messivsronaldo has 65.
Thank you for following up So Ronaldo probably has the most clutch goals + assists in history Do you have the statistics per assist from Ronaldo in his career?

I think you don’t understand, this is the percentage of participation in the team's goals, it helps to understand the particular context of each player.
