Pelé I don't know the minutes per game, but I know substitutions were rare at the time, players like Gerd Müller or Alfredo di Stéfano played almost 90 minutes per game in their carrers, so we can asume a player like Pelé played between 88 and 90 mpg Counted 814 games since season 1957 Played 71924 minutes (88.36 mpg), scored 758 goals and 305 assists. These are interesting and you put a lot of work in mate, to be fair! My reservations before were always about reliability of data (and secondly any idea that the calculations could answer who was really the better player definitively when there are so many variables that can affect things, but I don't think you suggest they can necessarily anyway). You do seem to have very detailed assist data for Pele now for example, so that's interesting, although I guess people might suggest it's not complete or accurate yet so I'll hold my praise just a little lol! Anyway, re: Shevchenko, I would guess if this data included his first Dynamo Kiev stint and not his second, the result would be different and I'd assume more favourable. Assist data could be tricky in that league and in that period in the 90s though I guess, so probably that's why you didn't attempt to go that far back for him at club level.

In all his career Ronaldo played 623 games, 48906 minutes (78.50 mpg), scored 419 games and 141 assists. G+A 1.031 per 90 minutes So Ronaldo has a G+A contribution of 50.28%

This a sizeable chunk id pressume including assists pre Milan era @Trachta10 Which source are you using for van basten 1984/85 It seems to be widely inflated AFC ajax says 8 assists in all comps https://www.afc-ajax.info/en/season/1984-85#statistics Spanish wiki also says 8 in all comps https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_van_Basten But you say 20? Thats 12 assists off the mark There are some minor discrepancies in other areas Ruud van nistelrooy had 10 assists in 2002/03 not 9 9 assists in 2001/02 not 8 7 assists in 2003/04 not 4 6 assists in 2005/06 not 4 Etc.... https://www.redcafe.net/threads/man...sts-1987-88-today.396084/page-3#post-16429267 Transfermarket is an incomplete database and should only be used as a corroborating source I find it highly improbable Cruyff 1969/70 made 34 assists(in 46 official matches) https://www.afc-ajax.info/en/season/1969-70#statistics A player of that level doesn't finish 7th place in the ballon dor (in a world cup year where jairzinho,Pele, cubillas, tostao all shone but were ineligible for the ballon dor) Does it sound probable to you that a player could assist at a rate of 0.80 per 90 across an entire season? Henry 02/03 was an outlier(till now tbh) for prolific assisting forwards and his average was 0.54 assists per 90( as per transfermarket ) Cruyff in his pre 1970 guise was very arguably not better than prime Thierry Henry yet you think it is plausible he assists at 38% higher rate!!!! AFC ajax gives him 19 assists and that seems more probable to me Data for other seasons is simply wrong Ibrahimovic 08/09 is underrated In the league alone it was 10~ assists There was opta tweet flying around that said van basten 91/92 and ibrahimovic 08/09 where the only 2 players in Serie A history to score 25 goals and 10 assists That's just strict criteria assists http://web1.ncaa.org/web_files/stats/Stats_Manuals/Soccer/2009ez.pdf#page=2 In other competitions it was more for ibrahimovic
Van Basten 1984/85 20 assists https://www.transfermarkt.es/marco-van-basten/leistungsdaten/spieler/74471/plus/0?saison=1984 Johan Cruyff 1969/70 34 assists https://www.transfermarkt.es/johan-cruyff/leistungsdaten/spieler/8021/plus/0?saison=1969 Ibrahimovic 2008/09 11 assists https://www.transfermarkt.es/zlatan-ibrahimovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/3455/plus/0?saison=2008
Is transfermarket authoritative for pre champions league era players There are alot of holes and exaggerations There is a huge difference between Cruyff assisting 19 goals in 46 appearences during 1969/70 And assisting 34 goals in a 46 game season(4037 minutes) The difference between a top level world class player and GOAT level player Assisting 34 goals in a 44 match season is Something that is unprecedented in the history of football and something that was not reflected in his 1970 ballon dor ranking http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/europa-poy70.html You can't tell me a player of that level gets 0 first place votes Maybe you should learn to be a tiny bit more sceptical about what you see There are elite creative players like ozil,KDB,fabregas,Messi, xavi, iniesta,Ronaldinho, figo,Neymar,Platini,Zico,Maradona even micheal laudrup arguably the most effective chance creating 'machine' of all time Most probably if not Defintely never got 34 assists in a single season But Cruyff does? and he does it 2 or 3 years before he reaches his playmaking prime? I don't think you understand how insane and improbable 0.80 assists per 90 is over the course of a 40+ game season Transfermarket is wrong on Ibrahimovic 08/09 It is 10 assists just in Serie A https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/serie-a-2008-09-final-statistics.1110052/ And then there is missing data from the champions league and Coppa Italia Transfermarket only credit him with 7
