Check out this splendid goal scored by Franco Causio for Italy against then World Champions Argentina in 1979:
Neto of corinthians during the early 1990s scored the most fantastic collection of free kicks i ve ever seen from one player... I think they may be on youtube.. Pure class and unforgettable
Don't know where else to post this so I chose this thread. Short tactical analysis of the 1974 World Cup game between Brazil and the Netherlands (includes goals):
This is quite a biased set of videos that I made (as it's only Nottingham Forest goals lol!) but the goals are generally a mixture of those things and I thought they might add nicely to the thread. Here are parts 1 and 3, and part 2 will be posted when completed (I plan to put them all together in the end in one video but I'll just post the smaller part 1, 2 and 3 videos here I think):
I got part 2 done too (on the same account) and then I've combined them finally so I'll post that full one here actually:
Uwe Seeler scores a great goal with a bicycle kick for Hamburg against Frankfurt on 23 January 1971. It is the 2-0 in the 50th minute: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=715478438586198
back heel kick goal by goalie Hansen: http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2015/...dramatic-backheel-volley-goal-in-injury-time/
In the following clip, which mostly deals with the 1954 FA Cup final featuring West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End, I have found the best footage I have ever seen of a 1950s football game. Having been colorized, it simply looks stunning as if it was played yesterday. You may check the following times: 1:32 2:57 3:30
Recently I stumbled on this goal. It is somewhat/quite forgotten (compared to the 1974 Real Madrid goal for example), that seems to have been 'rediscovered' lately - without noting the match however. This was Vegan10 his write-up (the actual goal underlined): It's interesting that even for the greatest (pre-1990s) legends some good/great goals in quite important games can be 'forgotten'. I think that television channels lazily copy the familiar footage (from other channels), which creates some back catalogue that becomes repeated again and again. Although for e.g. Pelé we have of course 'Pelé Eterno' (2004) and 'Isto e Pelé' (1973) previously which had already collected a substantial portion of his taped goals (supported and authorized by himself and his management).
Bergkamp's first European goal in 1988 in Marseille: 10 years after, he scores that goal against Argentina in the same stadium.
Nice goal! In his early years he was a speedy winger (a classic winger) before he moved to the center and 'exploded' to the world stage in 1990-1991 (he was out of contention for 1990WC because of injury in a league match against Roda). I see there's very, very little on youtube for his succesful Ajax years (obviously a lot, lot more Arsenal fans around & for other nations) - maybe I'll make one for his assists Best halfway line goal ever? (better than Nayim, Beckham imho)
I'd go for Nayim. But it's tight. /// Amazing goal btw (saw it only a few weeks/ months ago and now see that it's nominated for the Puskas stuff) If it's Cruijff or Maradona, it's "genius", here it's "ok it can happen"... ...me frankly I like.
#140 was this one : Mario Gaspar. /// Betis-Bordeaux 95 - can feature somewhere into this thread too. ZZ
According to ENFA this might be the best game in English league history. Leeds v Liverpool, 13th April 1991:
Josip Skoblar (but it is not in 1969-70, it is in 70-71, OM 4, OGC Nice 0, D1 match, 6.12.70 : http://www.omstatsclub.com/acteur.php?acteur=1347). "the violence of the shot caused the ball to pass through the net".
Went through this one again as I was looking for Mick Channon vids : Southampton - Liverpool 1981-1982 (Round 38).
