Just wanted to know how many older members remember back to the late 60s and 70s. I have just discovered my complete collection of Goal Magazine up in the actic.

What fantastic times, Best, Charlton, Osgood, Bremner and then on the international stage Pele and the like.

It was a great time for soccer. I have put the first ten of my collection up for sale on the www.freeserve.co.uk site under collectables, just to see how many of the fans from yesteryear there are out there.

I reckoned that the memories that brought me so much fun when I was a lad ought to cheer up a new collector now.

The shorts were far too revealing back then, so no.

The football was crapper because they played on mud and not grass. No inch perfect passing. The players weren't as fit, smoking and drinking all the time. And truly talented players weren't protected by referee's from the likes of Hunter and his demented ilk.

I was too concerned with Cocoa Puffs and the Superfriends to pay any attention.
