Fellow Burn fans, As a continuing effort to keep y'all apprised on Operation Eff Chicago 2003, the ongoing league-wide effort to deny the Chicago Fire the opportunity to get their grubby mitts on any silverware, let me give you an update: Brimstone Cup? Mission accomplished. The Fire couldn't win it outright, so it stays with the holders. Supporters Shield? Mission almost accomplished. San Jose would have to fold like a pup tent to not win it. MLS Cup? Work in progress. However, the US Open Cup is an area of grave concern. The Fire are in the final on October 15 at Giants Stadium against the MetroStars. You all know what you need to do -- support the Metros for one night. I understand that many of you have a strong disdain for the MetroStars, but let's not lose sight of what's important here. Chicago must go down, and they must go down hard. Go Metros.
I really hated NY back in 2000, but I don't got much beef with them anymore. So lets check the current hate list... 1) DC 2) Colorado 3) LA 4) Chicago 5) KC 6) Columbus 7) New York/New Jersey 8) New England 9) San Ho Well how did Chicago get down to 4th? I dunno but go Metrostars!
Hey, you don't need to be a Burn fan to support this movement! May someone stomp on Ante Razov's head! Go Metros!
while goon is by far the more worthy of the heel of any Burn fan...Metrofans are just too...Metrofans for me to throw in my lot with them. Sorry. I sincerely hope they both lose.
Not trolling Was wondering why all the hate towards the Fire?? Rivalry i didnt know about?? There is only one team i hate- DC scum and of course the Fire on 10/15
You guys are great. Your team has a horrible season so you turn your energies toward seeing your arch-rival fall. That is the definition of supporting a soccer club. Here's a question. Would you root for the Burn to lose to the Metros if it means helping the Metros beat Chicago for the Conference title? I believe a trophy comes with finishing first in the conference so you might want to root for the Metros just in case.
No, but I would take a beating by the Metros with a smile if I thought it meant that DC or LA might end up one spot lower in the final rankings since we own the #1 pick of both next year.
As a Burn fan, I root for Burn first, then for whoever's playing the Goons. Since there's nothing positive left in this season for Burn, I'll root for whoever and whatever will screw the hated Fire. But since I'll be at the Metro game, I hope Burn wins (since it's such a rarity this year, I'd like to actually witness it in person).
Fellow BS'ers take notice - this is EXACLTY the type of quality post that keeps BigSoccer growing. While everyone may not support the Burn, *everyone* wants the Goons to lose! I vote Burn20 for Mod!!!!
I think we were a week too early with this thread! Dammit, Metros, you were supposed to beat the Fire in the LHUSOC FInal, not beat San Jose, thus keeping the Evil Red Ones in the hunt for the Suppoerter's Shield! Farging Iceholes!
