The Georgia Revolution have signed 2 former professional players for the 2014 season. "We are excited to bring Jordan and Martyn into the team for the 2014 season," said General Manager, Rafe Mauran. "Both bring an abundance of quality, knowledge and experience to the team. They are great leaders and I know this quality will help our younger players achieve their goal of competing at the next level as they learn what it takes to be a professional soccer player." Jordan Davis, who played with the Revolution last summer will rejoin the team. Davis played collegiately at Georgia State University where he served as team captain before playing pro with the Columbus Shooting Stars and the Atlanta Silverbacks. He will be accompanied by Martyn Lancaster who first debuted for Chester City in the English Football League. He then went on to play for the Wilmington Hammerheads, the Atlanta Silverbacks and the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers before resigning with the Silverbacks in 2011. With the Silverbacks, he served as team captain and was named to the NASL's best XI last season. The Revs open up their 2014 campaign against NPSL powerhouse Chattanooga FC. The match will kickoff at 7:30pm at the RYSA Soccerplex. It is Youth Soccer Night. All players 12 and under wearing a soccer jersey will be admitted to the match for free. The Georgia Revolution will hold a free clinic on Friday, May 9th starting at 6pm at the RYSA Soccerplex. Your kids will be able to interact with Georgia Revolution players in a one and a half hour practice session. Afterwards, the players will be available to sign autographs! All players age 8 - 18 are invited to participate. All players that come to the clinic will receive a free ticket to the Georgia Revolution's opening match of the 2014 season against Chattanooga FC on Saturday, May 10th at 7:30pm.
