    Is it Stoitchkov or Stoichkov?

    My favorite line:

"The most entertaining part of the scrimmage came when Etcheverry came on for Chino Alegria in the 57th minute. Hanging out on the left side of midfield with Stoichkov, the pair immediately began a passing pinball game between themselves, around, between, and over George Mason defenders."

I think players like Diablo and Stoich will help the youth get better. They have low tolerance for bull, and yearn for wins. I believe Moreno was a cancer to our youth. I truely believe this will be a break out year for Tino and Convey.

I've seen it both ways. I think Stoichkov is the more Anglicized version.

Geez, we played a college team with our second string.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the result.

Lets not annoint this guy the savior of our team just yet...

Yeah obviously he's not gonna be the savior, but he sounds better than having Chino at defense in my ears.

It was Stoichkov (and Lechkov) back at USA'94 but now seems to be Stoitchkov (or Letchkov). It's probably not that Hristo has changed the Bulgarian spelling of his name which would be written in Cyrillic letters.

Someone (MLS, FIFA, Int'l Ass'n of Bulgarian to English Translators??) has decided that Bulgarian names with these endings should be spelled with an additional "t".
