  1. Gm #6 Chicago vs. Colorado, May 25, 7:30 PM [PREGAME]

I would like to ask about the seat situation for this game. I know the capacity will be around 10,000. Does it mean the grandstand and behind-the-goal full-size bleachers and standing room by the river or something else?

    Duh!

According to the original pronouncement, the west stands will be in place. The north and south stands and the east track-level bleachers will not. I imagine the temporary bleachers in the north end will be there.

Why the West stands and not the North & South, You would think if the track season is over and there putting up the West stands they should also put up the North & South.

Time and money. They've got enough time to get one set up, and the west stand seats pay more than the north or south (both more capacity and higher priced seats).

Time! they have a week to put up the stands. How long does it take?

Don't know. But last year it was a week for the west stands, and another two weeks for the east stands. The north and south stands got put up in a two week period before the end of the track season. Kind of suggests that maybe about a week for each set of stands.

The West and East stands are just bleacher type of stands, that shouldn't take a week to put up. There like the stands being used for section 8 fans for the first two games. North and South a little more time in them, but you would think they would get the stadium to full capacity for this game, whatever it takes.

I'm sure that Mr Wilt be would be happy to have your expertise available to him on this project.
I suspect that in order to accelerate the project, what it would require would be $$$, and in case you haven't noticed, the Fire are not a money making operation. (meaning that there is probably not a lot of it lying around just to satisfy your desires)

Perhaps they don't expect a great demand and so they saw no need to pay extra to put in the other stands.

Our lineup for the Rapids game:

    Thornton

    Perez, Boca, Curtin, Brown, Ring

    Pause, Armas, Whitfield, Gray, DMB

  11. A-HA! Clever strategy bringing the old 5-5-0 out of mothballs. Throw in dual keepers and they'll never beat us. OTOH, we can't possibly win either. If only we could swing that Rob Mouw deal and get a real goal scorer . . .

It'll certainly be interesting to see if and how we bounce back from the previous game. Meanwhile, you might worry about the Rapids fighting for the win like a cornered animal, but it's still an open question if they've got the stones to pull that off.

Did the Rapids have one of their players ejected yesterday? I'm almost certain. They're without him then. But then again, we're without CJ.

Nope. Right game, wrong team. Joey DiG got tossed, but he plays for the swampees.

Zizi Roberts left due to injury. Whether he'll be available is still unknown.

Just got the Rapids' weekly release, and Zizi Roberts is OUT for Sunday. Steve Herdsman is questionable, and Spencer is probable.

But the US vs. Wales match is the next day in San Jose...are we going to be losing DMB, Boca and Armas?

Also, Andy Williams will be playing for the Jamaican National Team, and won't be available for the Fire.

We won't be losing any players. I think Bruce is only calling up MLS players from the two teams that are off that week (NE and SJ). Plus the European players.

Well, it will be easily to put in Pause for Williams, then.

  20. We'll see if Andy Williams is the sum of all midfield evil, or if the problems run deeper.

This is probably the best team in the league to turn things around against. Not that we are in a horrible position but we certainly need a lot of inspiration.

Your telling me that guy that's worth what 15 billion dollars can't afford say 10,000 to put stand. They should try to improve the stadium any way they can, that already has a small field and fake grass. If you think that having the stadium at full capacity is asking to much them I'm sorry. And to the question would I be willing to help with the construction of the stand, if that's what it would take then YES.

    MY starting line-up;
    Faria-Razov
    DMB
    Mapp-Armas-Pause
    Boca-Curtain-Gray-Nitwit
    ZACH

No incentive to get stadium to max capacity. Actually is good business move financially.

With Williams and CJ out, this will give the younger players some time.

    ZACH
    Gray - Curtin - Boca
    Mapp - Pause - Armas - Perez
    DMB
    Faria - Razov

Subs to be Ralph, Jaqua, and or Capano.

They need to get after it right away. Let's make sure we as get to the game and give them plenty of reason to be pumped up and motivated. GO FIRE!!!!!
