Inside the final five minutes, still 0-0. Good chance gone wasted for DC Olsen's cross just past Lassiter.
Free kick to the Fire, 87th minute. Beasley was fouled by Olsen near midfield, and Hristo was pissed about it. Corner to the Fire after the restart
In stoppage time now.... Kovalenko and Romando in a collision just inside the box.... Dema got a shot off.... goal kick. Both players down. 2 minutes of stoppage time will certainly be extended. The announcer said that DC had most of the play in the second half, but the Fire had chances.
Full Time. OT coming. Will this be just the second 0-0 game of the season? Buy yourself a virtual beer if you knew that the only other 0-0 game was also DC v Chicago at Cardinal stadium a few weeks back.
If my wife ever comes here.... "See honey! People actually listen to my soccer ramblings!!! And they actually BLESS ME for it!!" OT coming, and I'll take us home. It's hard typing while being jostled around by section 8, I'll tell you that.
Chicago in possession. Beasley fouled. Hristo started it quickly. Brown crosses for Wolff, cleared out for a throw to the Fire. Chicago knocking it around the perimeter of the box. DC sitting back.
Card for Etcheverry for his "indecision on where to place the ball" on a free kick. Not much else. First half of OT over.
Throw in to the Fire. 30 yard shot by Brown. Blocked. Razov shot goes wide from 14 yards. Crowd goes OOOOOH!! must have been close. Free to DC United 40 yards out. Announcer excited for some reason.
Quick counter. Shot by Dema, saved by Rimando. Fire keep possession, shot by Wolff, saved again. More pressure from Chicago. Come ON!!! 3 minutes played in OT #2
45 seconds of posession for DC. Cross out for a goal kick. Fire in posession in midfield. Stoichkov crosses, blocked. More posession for Chicago, Curtin at midfield. 1 minute to go.
Good or Bad? Bad. Good teams beat DC at home. Hell, even bad teams beat DC at home. I don't think they have one road win this season, and have only scored something like 5 road goals. I may be off on those numbers, but they are definitely a poor road team.
Mike I am sure where ever you are you have a smile on your face. You allways made fun of soccer for the 0-0 draws. See ya.
usa1950, thank you so much for the play by play. My blinking computer keeps shorting out, so I just ran down to my car to get my office laptop - and the other computer STILL isn't ready to go online! Even though the Fire tied that other team, you made it bearable for me. Tell your wife that you did well - and I'll tell my fiance that I still prefer his play by play! Thanks again!
I dont like to sound like a broken record, and i dont want to blame the entire game on this, but the officiating was terrible. That was a joke. There were at least two instances where we should have been awarded a PK that were less questionable that hristo's against SJ. what the hell happened tonight?
