Reports coming out Hannibal is going on loan next week. Multiple clubs in the Championship and Spain inquiring. Matej Kovar on loan to Cheltenham Town Fernandez on loan to Preston North End (most likely)
I like the Championship for Hannibal. He needs more minutes than he will get being a squadie. Plus Championship is more physical and that will help him get stronger. Kovar needs to not blow this loan like his last one. And We have like 4 guys that can play LB so Fernandez needs game time and maturing elsewhere. He may be on loan for a couple of seasons.
Hannibal needs to learn how to walk the line between disciplined aggressive play and becoming petulant. That's an important next step for him I think.
Hannibal is a bit of a punk. I think we all appreciate that about him. I'm not sure a loan in the Championship will serve him well. Abroad is better I think.
Happens with really talented young players, you gotta slap them in the back of the head a bit so they can focus and harness the talent.
Manchester United are in talks to sign Tom Huddlestone, who left Hull City as a free agent in the summer. The former Tottenham midfielder to coach and play in the U21s #MUFC #hcafc #Spurs https://t.co/seMVLAnlGB— Mike McGrath (@mcgrathmike) August 1, 2022
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson has described Manchester United's treatment of him last season as "criminal". https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62401130
It is more unfortunate than "criminal". He was #1 towards the end of 20/21 but then got covid and missed the start of last season when DDG was playing lights out. No manager was going to drop DDG when he was back to his form. Things change... DDG was #1 then Dean was #1 when DDG was #1. What are ya gonna do? Probably should have let him go on loan in January though.
Definitely the leak. There have been rumors for a while that Henderson attitude is shit and he thinks he’s an all star. In this interview, it definitely sounds like it. Good riddance. He can sling it when his loan is up. Bang average goalkeeper anyway.
Official: Tom Huddlestone has joined #mufc's Academy as playing coach and David Hughes has joined as Professional Development Phase coach pic.twitter.com/KIjrakuoth— utdreport Academy (@utdreportAcad) August 2, 2022
Nah. He was promised game time or would be sold. United did not play him one bit so he feels cheated. He's not wrong, some people even wanted him as England's no 1
If he was undeniable, he would have been playing. He had some bad luck to get Covid, but even the year prior when he played a lot he was decent but nothing special. DDG regained form and not a single manager in the world would’ve dropped him for Henderson at the time. He can feel slighted all he wants. My issue with him is that we had tons of dressing room leaks to the press last season and people close to the club had said rumors were it was him. For me this confirms it. The second he’s away from United and a mic is in his face he’s running his mouth. He’s not a guy I’m sad to lose.
Update on loans: Fernandez still out and receiving treatment at United. Ethan Laird started every game since moving to QPR. Bailly to Marseille almost done on loan with a buy option. Amad Diallo linked with Nice under Lucien Favre. I would love for him to go there and play. Telles is still not starting two games in in La Liga. He has come on the last 15 minutes or so. Mjebri is not in the squad for Birmingham this morning. Henderson playing well so far in two games.
No new contract for Garnacho despite him only having about 10 months left on current one (to end June next year). Was some noise a few months back about the club tryiing to get him to sign, but the fact that nothing has happened makes me think he is holding out. Would be a shame to lose him and suspect the fact he has not signed has limited his minutes last few months.

Garnacho’s contract is until 2025. https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...hester-united-garnacho-transfer-news-24180407
He is listed on transfermarkt as having a contract to Jun 2023. There were reports from Fab Romano in June and August that the club are trying to sign him to a longer contract. So not sure who to believe tbh. Hopefully MEN are correct. Maybe the club will work on the extension once the window is done. https://www.transfermarkt.com/alejandro-garnacho/profil/spieler/811779 “He played pretty well - he is just a teenager but his performance was really good”. I think the new one would just be a pay increase to recognize he’s on the fringes of the first team. The one he signed last summer was his first professional contract, so probably he’s probably on a very small wage.
