8/10» #MUFC pic.twitter.com/q8MiiHUcJC— Manchester United (@MUnitedFR) February 13, 2021 Garner continues to impress at Forest (in today's 0-0 draw vs Bournemouth). Nottinghamshire Livesports reporting that he was superb over the course of the 90mins and comfortably won his battle vs Jack Wilshere. The United loanee gave another show of class and maturity: 8/10 Ultimately, that is what you want to see from our youth products. They can have all the talent in the world and impress at youth level, but the true test of whether they can/will eventually make it, is when they test themselves vs men. Garner showed signs earlier in the season with Watford but looks to be really coming into his own now with Forest. Fingers crossed, he can keep this going: this is great to see.
Another one (Whitwell) confirming Levitt's move to Croatia. Dylan Levitt is flying over to Croatia now to join NK Istra 1961 on loan until the end of the season. Interesting move. Extended transfer deadline in country provided opportunity for senior football.Credit to Levitt for trying different country #MUFC https://t.co/mbjaB5HEka— Laurie Whitwell (@lauriewhitwell) February 13, 2021
(was a boyhood United fan who started out with us) Charlie McNeill scored over 600 goals at academy level for Manchester City. Left them to join Manchester United, has just scored two goals against them in the first 20 minutes & celebrated by kissing the United badge. He’s going straight to the top.— Jack (@UtdJackkkk) February 13, 2021 Former Man City player Charlie Mcneil pictured kissing the badge after scoring all four goals against them today for the U18’s ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️🔴Love that 😂👏 pic.twitter.com/i5AWUnI5EW— United Zone (@ManUnitedZone_) February 13, 2021
Read a couple of people on Twitter say wtf are we doing casting him off to the arse end of nowhere, poor guy. LOL
Find it interesting that Levitt was eventually sent to Croatia for the remainder of the season. Beautiful country, no doubt but the league there is not known for being anything special, if we're being honest. With the transfer window being closed in most countries by now, the choices in terms of potential destinations were very narrow. It then dawned on me that while the Croatian league is not that well known, those countries (former Yugoslavia) have produced quite a few talented and technically savvy players (and some baller midfielders in particular). And from that aspect, it could be intriguing for a player like Levitt. The experience alone though, of trying his hand in something completely new and different, makes things interesting and hopefully he'll be the better for it, both from a professional/football but also personal standpoint. Definitely hope it works out for him and wish him the best of luck in his time there.
The former Yugoslavia nations have provided some very technically gifted midfielders over the years so it might be a better fit than expected. I assume the league is FL1 level too, so that is a decent level. The traveling far from family and friends is a real challenge and if he can do that and not get homesick, it will speak loads about his mental fortitude. Funny how it is a big deal for English players though we have plenty of internationals in our academy.
Another positive review from the Nottingham Post regarding Garner's performance: " Came close to scoring his first goal, from a header that hit the crossbar. But he's once more demonstrated his calm and intelligence in his defensive duties. 8/10" La note du 'Nottingham Post' sur le match de James Garner (90') contre Blackburn : «Il a été proche de marquer son premier but sur une tête qui a touché la barre transversale, mais il a montré son calme et son intelligence dans ses responsabilités défensives. 8/10» #MUFC pic.twitter.com/3f4svV2pmX— Manchester United (@MUnitedFR) February 21, 2021 Don't believe they've marked him below an 8 in any of his matches since he joined the club. Really good to see things are going well for him there. 1363413149810974726 is not a valid tweet id
#MUFC & Wales youngster @DylanLevitt recently took the bold decision to sign up for a relegation fight in Croatia. Sorry, just saw this. I don't know about a good chance to make it, but they are very very bright prospects. Amad is probably closest to being nailed on because of talent, money spent on him guaranteeing him some pt and the skillset of being a dribbler/creator from the right. He's also got very little to learn in terms of what a player playing his position should be doing. Like he's very astute positionally, understands pressing and positioning for transition/counters. Mejbri and Shoretire are more up in the air, but mainly due to who is in front of them and what they will be. Shoretire reminds me a little of Gomes but Shoretire is a harder worker, a quicker reader of the ball and is less technique dependent to beat a man. I have real questions about where he'll end up because he's looked impressive LW, RW & 10. If all 3 cost nothing, Mejbri probably just edges Amad as the likeliest to get a shot here. Mejbri I think is likely to be a fringe player by the end of next season if he doesn't go out on loan. The question is where he'll get minutes. The player he most reminds me of is Grealish. He's able to do everything the best attackers can do, but he can do it while running at his top speed. He's also got the frame to take physical punishment. Of course, the chances of 3 kids making it at the same time are very slim... if you consider Amad more like Ronaldo (a kid who was purchased with expectation of playing) then that's still 2... really tough, but we've got the room in the squad for it, especially if we part ways with Mata and Jesse (permanently).

Garner got his first goal for Forest today in their match vs Derby. Second half about to start on ESPN Plus
Well done from Garner but the keeper will hate himself for that one. 🤩 What a time to get your first #NFFC goal! pic.twitter.com/lfich1YISl— Nottingham Forest (@NFFC) February 26, 2021
Charlie McCann at it again. 🏁 FT — #MUAcademy U23s: Southampton 1 #MUFC 2.A second-half brace from Charlie McCann secures a dramatic comeback win for United away at Southampton. Sounds familiar...Top work, lads! 👏 pic.twitter.com/uvVn9YCD14— Manchester United (@ManUtd) February 27, 2021 That's 14 goals in 12 games this season for him.
and just like that, after having like zero striker prospects in the pipeline, we have 3 if you count Mase. Obviously we haven't 'created' McCann and Hugill but it is good to have striking talent in the academy.
