I think he's trying to one-up Bruce Arena in the sarcastic comments of near-self-deprication. Future national team coach, Archie Bunker style. Did you peep this one from the John Starks book of butchered sports cliches? "The Mexican team will start the game with 12 players, because of the 60,000 (fans), but none of them are allowed to kick the ball, so that's an equalizer." Um....WTF? 11 of them can kick it, in theory, right? Also, if the opponent has 60,000 fans and you have less than, say, 500, how is them not being able to kick the ball an equalizer? It's still an advantage for them, thus, not equal. Anyway, he's money.
