With no injuries, I believe he would have become important post-CR. But how many games did it take for him to get injured again under Lopetegui? 1? 2?
far from being a failure. he contributed and helped won some really iconic games. having said that, we should have never extended him. good luck wherever he is going (spurs?)
Many players play with pain, there's no way to be a professional footballer and not have discomfort. Bale simply wasn't willing to do it unless it was for his country.
Might be, but I honestly think he wanted to become our reference player without CR and a new coach/system. But he probably got injured just by thinking of that and things went downhill... again. Then ZZ returned and he said fck it.
I don't believe that. He literally would spend time inside and then be healthy when national team games came up. This wasn't a one off. It was years of this.
The Spanish radio station COPE first reported on Monday that Bale's representatives had offered him to Atletico, saying the discussion had taken place in a meeting with the club's sporting director Andrea Berta. Sources told ESPN that Atletico appreciated the offer but felt the finances involved in such a deal would make it difficult to justify, given Bale's age. https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...t-man-united-neymar-made-available-by-psg#one
This guy is whoring himself to Atletico now. Seriously can it get any lower than this? Absolutely zero emotional attachment to this club. He doesn't even understand what it means to be Madridista.

Look none of us like his antics; but we have to remember the good times. He was legendary on his day.
Ruined his legacy here unfortunately by being a petulant child. Was a defender of him as his contributions were undeniably massive his first few years. But his pettiness even after Zidane was gone just proves he’s going to be McManaman and Owen 2.0. Please F off back to Wales

Florentino is class man. After all the douchiness from him towards our club and fans he is still affectionate with him. I’ll wait a couple of more days for everyone to have their final say and then this thread is bye bye.
What is with some of you people? It's like you're just plastic Real Madrid fans who don't watch matches and follow whatever you think is the popular consensus. We broke a transfer record to sign Bale. You'll be an absolute fool to say you'll go back in time and have it any other way. Compare that to the likes of Hazard, Griezmann, Pogba, Neymar, Maguire etc. I hate the fact that people need to be reminded of his contributions in the Champions League and Copa. His renewal didn't go well, it was clear we should have sold him but WE decided to keep him on. Last few years were bitter and regrettable, that's it.
Not showing up for la liga celebrations but enjoying the much more glamourous ucl one just shows who Gareth has become. Thanks for your services (you were very well paid for that) and goodbye.
