You ain't asking the right questions. I'm not gonna indulge into a Benz discussion or Varnagel or a Bale discussion with you. Don't have the time nor the will to deal with strawmans and you two being stans of those players.
Our previous transfer record was set in 2013, and its meaningless stat today. Just like saying we signed our most expensive forward ever this summer for 60M, or our most expensive defender ever for 50M, both for backup young players. You look around and see who is being signed for 100M nowadays and Hazard is definitely in that tier if not better. Pipita, Coutinho, Dembele, Greizmann, Lukaku, Pogba?
How does selling him make the team better and in how many points does that translate into? Bale leaving makes us neither better or worse. He's not a factor. Just say "God I hate this guy I want him out of there" like you mean instead of saying stuff that makes no sense.
That's kind of stretching the argument very thing. By that standard Vinicius is the most expensive bench player in the world etc. Etc. Might as well draw up a "most expensive guy with long hair" argument while we're at it.
Sure, but it's more useful to compare transfer fees with others in the current market than to others we've made in the past when things were very different. We had very decent squad planning which made us avoid big signings since getting James in 2014, but had we needed to buy players we would've shattered our transfer record every summer.
#StayAtHomeChallenge Bale pic.twitter.com/XwFcbaXU46— Real Madrid Info ³⁵ (@RMadridInfo) March 24, 2020 Edit : AS: Bale will face his departure again this summer but he is contracted until 2022 & is not willing to lower an iota from his €14.5m net yearly salary. He had agreed to a Chinese move last year and there are few teams who will be able to afford him in Europe.
A goal to remember. Man those games were real grinds. Tight battles. He destroyed Bartra for life. It wouldn’t be as lovely if he did it to semedo or umtiti. A academy product.,.... *chefs kiss*
Forever people will remind him. The man will be 90 on his death bed and they'll still ask if he will catch him in the after-life.
Yeah, imagine being happy about a goal in a final vs Barca. True madridistas only celebrate when the right player scores.
Overall, Gareth Bale's transfer has been excellent for Real Madrid #BRFootballRanks— B/R Football (@brfootball) April 11, 2020
Watching it live I remember freaking out that Bale was going to ******** it up with this touches at the end then he goes and nutmegs the keeper LOL.
