Just keep repeating that ad nauseum, Berhalter was the only coach in Gio's career to give him trust and a prominent role... In the 2020-21 Bundesliga season Reyna played 32 games (24 starts), for Dortmund who finished third that season, at age 17. Not the same level of trust as telling a guy before the World Cup has even started that he won't be playing much, but it's SOMETHING.
Yep. Thats why Reyna to Chicago fire is a story that writes itself. Its a tale of redemption and rebirth and a 'club' in crisis. It's some real disney-type shyte.
I think he can be a contributor. I also think that if he wants to get "moar gooder" at the game, then he needs to seek a different challenge at a higher level than the running joke that is the SPL. Why? Here's a guy whos: 1. A 3rd generation professional, after both his father and grandfather played professionally, 2. A guy who fvkcing grew up in a household with his father playing professionally, 3. A now 6th year professional. in sum, he should FVKCING KNOW BETTER, than to keep acting like a fvkcing immature b!tch. Yet here he is, still with his "wave-and-whine" routine. And here are some posters, falling all over themselves to apologize for him. The fans should expect MORE from such a player, not less. And so should he expect more from himself. Agreed. Not only has he been a China doll and a light duty commando, he's also been an entitled Karen, a mental midget, a bad teammate, and a whiny little b!tch.
"Bad attitude" can be causal for "not good enough." No one wants a Karen in their team, they want grown fvkcing men in their team.
I didn’t see this coming, but I believe we’ve found a poster whose take on Gio makes Nietzsche‘s position look downright moderate.
I think its more like: "Der, I think Gio's the most bestest evar, because he's the most bestest evar." (IOW, those who argue without basis.) "Once upon a time, at home, in a cashgrab, vs sh!tty CONCACAF fodder, Gio played well against the #80 ranked team in the world, therefore he's a golden god." "Hes a whiny little b!tch who gets hurt all the time, and rides pine at every club he's been at." Nietzsche
I was his biggest advocate here until he showed us who he was. If you were extremely bored, you could search my posts about him from his U-17 days through 2022 Qatar and you would see that. I thought he would be the best player we have produced, but I chalked his professional and tactical goobrishness up to youth. I didn’t realize that he was about behind mentally. I am sure that if you walked into practice and saw him play on an individual level, he would be impressive relative to his peers. However, since his youth, when you put him on the field and he has to play as a teammate within a formation, he has trouble fitting in. All was good when his buddy Erling Haaland knew that he would just hit him the ball so he could score. Since then he has not been able to forge any meaningful partnerships on the field for either club or country. I have not lost hope that he can be a key contributor for the USMNT, but he is being left behind. Since Qatar, I have been waiting to see that folks around him are being frank and realistic with him about what he needs to do to play. It’s not happening. It has nothing to do with his health. It has everything to do with his mental approach to a team game.
What bitter pill did you swallow? Jude calls him his best friend. Erling calls him his best friend. Cole says he is a mentor. Every report out of Forrest the manager said he worked hard he just didn't want to bet his job on a loanee. Every manager at Dortmund said he was a team player. His only problem has been injuries. Please show me one report other than what happened in the WC of him not being a model player.
"Since then he has not been able to forge any meaningful partnerships on the field for either club or country." He teamed with Haji to give us two goals in overtime time to beat Jamaica in Nations league semi finals in March for a 3-1 win.
Did you lose your reading comprehension card? I answered a questionable statement about meaningful partnerships on the field. You know what starts with "Once upon a time"? Something that never happened or happened a long time ago. That was in March.
Remember? That one time? Vs CONCACAF fodder? I mean, JAMAICA. They have guys on their national team playing in 2500 seat stadia in their league! Therefore, Gio is a golden god, amirite?
Again check you comprehension I never said that. So no. But he isn't MLS material and at one time had Transfer market value of 40 million.
Ok, let's review: Was that game at home? (Checks notes): YES, it was comfortably at home. Was that in a pointless cashgrab? (Checks notes): YES, it was in the nations league. Was that match against weak, CONCACAF fodder? (Checks notes): YES, it was against Jamaica, then the 62nd ranked team in FIFA. So yes, you made the EXACT (and predictably-weak) argument as I'd foreseen in a previous post.
Show us on the doll where Gio touched you...it's ok. You and Nietzschel have each other...you're not alone.
It appears that Gio is in the starting lineup for the match with Barcelona today. 🚨 STARTING XI VS BARCELONA 🚨 pic.twitter.com/yW2URS2pXu— Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) December 11, 2024
eh, just a glorified friendly/cashgrab- at home no less, scared to play on the road, i guess- according to this absolute idiot thread.
