The more you hate on him the more powerful he gets GIO REYNA GOAL. THIRD SINCE RETURNING FROM WORLD CUP. We entering NBA Jam “He’s on Fire” mode. 🔥 https://t.co/FK6v35bYOY— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) February 4, 2023 GIO REYNA OFF THE BENCH AGAIN 😱 pic.twitter.com/YXQRa785M4— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) February 4, 2023
Gio Reyna since the World Cup break: 2 sub appearances, 53 minutes played, and 2 DNPs for the US - all 4 matches over a 12 day period. 3 sub appearances, 70 minutes played, and 1 DNP for Borussia Dortmund - all 4 matches over a 13 day period. And 3 goals. Let's hope that Terzic continues to manage his minutes smartly to build Reyna back stronger and get him comfortable enough to push forth for more.
Yep, in the penultimate round of friendlies against Japan and Saudi, Reyna starting both matches had really set him back. It's good to see Dortmund taking care of him.
I know, silly me. I lack your sophisticated eye, I expect that attacking players should actually create scoring chances and be above the Roldan Line!
I'm kinda surprised that's not offside. Yes, the no.18 yellow shirt near the goal didn't make a play for the ball, but it was well within playing distance. Freiburg didn't even complain, so I guess there's that. Who cares? GIO SCORES AGAIN!!!
It just shows the huge difference in man management between our nepotism potato who was average in MLS Berhalter and a competent and successful coach like Terzic.. -Gregg told Reyna before the WC that he would play a limited role, he sulked and was a problem and the subsequent drama has been a complete clusterf**k for US Soccer. -Terzic said he's using Reyna as a super sub because he's not 100% yet, and he's looked happy while scoring 3 goals in 68 minutes while Dortmund keeps winning games.

I look at that and see that Berhalter did everyone else’s work for them. Reyna wasn’t playing and wasn’t producing. He goes to the World Cup and Berhalter tells him “sorry hijo, you aren’t playing better than Tim Weah. You’re not playing in front of him just because I’m like your uncle.” Don’t kid yourself. Berhalter is responsible for him finally producing. Berhalter is probably the only person in that kids life who ever put him in his place and made him have to prove himself. Remember, his cohort Haaland and Bellingham left him behind and the 18 year old Muokoko of the next cohort coming up is leaving him behind too. Kid needs to grow up and Berhalter may be the only person ever to tell him so.
Under Gregg: Reyna unhappy, Reyna not producing Under Terzic: Reyna happy, Reyna producing BSers: "GERGG IS SUCH A GOOD COACH"
Multiple posts a day in multiple threads bashing GGG is somewhat unhinged dude. Stop being so toxic. *I'm not a GGG lover or something before you accuse me of that.
The "criticizing Gregg = toxic" thing got played out like six months ago, try again... Turns out US Soccer was toxic all along, and has devolved into a clusterf**k yet again, so maybe the "toxic" social media people weren't all wrong... by the way while Reyna scores goals every 25 minutes, Gregg is out of a job and currently being investigated for beating his girlfriend.
Criticizing GGG is fine. Shoehorning a GGG criticism into multiple posts a day in multiple different threads is obsessive and unhinged.
I can’t help but wonder what the discourse around Berhalter would be today had Gio performed in his sub minutes in Qatar the way he obviously is capable of doing, as his recent matches for BVB show. It’s a pity he wasted so much time sulking. He might have been more prepared for his opportunities when they came.
Gregg on why Gio didn't play: "He's not 100%." A few posters on BS: "Gregggg is a LIAR and an idiot!" Terzic on why Gio didn't play: "He's not 100%." A few posters on BS: "Terzic is a good man manager and is handling Gio well."
in the month before the world cup gio played in all 6 of dortmunds matches, scoring twice. in a post this blithely delusional you really shouldnt use the phrase "dont kid yourself"
How about the 3 months before that? The month prior is too late. Weah had already won the job and Gio showed up and tried to wreck the team in practice. Weah was outperforming Gio, period. No need to rewrite history. Not sure who that helps.
