The transition to younger players from Reus (and Hummels) will be fascinating. He would benefit from a reduced workload and BVB would benefit from his abilities and experience…but it’s rarely smooth with dudes of that level.

Reus could go the way of Totti...and maybe Gio the way of Al Shawarry (sp?)

Cool to hear the video w/o the announcer... on the first view you can literally hear that it is a banger.

The chains in the goal are so dope. I've always wondered why more stadiums don't have some kind of noice making object in the goal to give us all that Pavlovian response. And why aren't goal posts more elaborately painted? Why aren't the goals in CL or World Cup gold?

Still on the Bench. Reus gets the start, hopefully he swaps for Reyna at the half or after 60.

Important match with opponent that they are tied with on points so not surprised not starting this one. I suspect he will start in Wednesday’s Pokal match against Bochum.

I dunno. He has produced enough in limited action to already warrant a start. Two game winners in a row usually gets you one but the coach continues to say he isn't 100%. Reus makes one appearance and is ready to start.... so I have to assume BVB is scared to death that Reyna could re-injure himself. If it is a question of injury risk then why start him in a Cup Game against an opponent that you should beat? I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get the start mid-week either. But I would love to be wrong.

Maybe some will feel like Reyna should be starting after 2 goals in 2 games but I felt like he wasn’t playing as well as usually does outside of the goals.

It’s like the opposite of Weah who plays well for Lille but has been missing the production.

I wouldn’t mind 20-30min a game as a sub the rest of the season if it means he stays healthy. Although I’m sure he’ll make some starts.

I like the way they are handling him given his age and injury record.

Could be or maybe Terzic is emphasizing two-way play for this match. Dortmund has leaked goals this year.

I'm not aware that Terzic gave a speech on leadership off the record, are you?

Oh yes, because if he had done that, that would TOTALLY excuse any attempted blackmail, wouldn’t it?

btw, it was just a joke. No need to let it rile you up

Dortmund up a man after a very soft second yellow. Should be some room for Reyna to maneuver if he gets on.

He might get a late appearance but given they are up a man and by two goals we shouldn't be surprised if the coach sticks with the "kid gloves" treatment.

What’s going on? 2 game winners in a row then benched 2 games in a row????
Is he injured or just not game fit?

The coach seems to only want to play him if they need a goal in the final 3rd of the game. Last comment I saw from him was that Gio is still not 100% fit.

Probably not game fit plus other players on his team are… good.

All this post-scandal narrative creation around Gio is a big drag.

I'm definitely disappointed, he should come in for Brandt or Reus later. Brandt with a banger may keep Reyna on the bench for a while.

Wow. This just validates Berhalter benching him for most of the World Cup.
    Respect!

Btw. This has nothing to do with a scandal. This is a simple observation of the current circumstance as to why he isn’t yet starting or even playing in games while his performances when he does are phenomenal.
What does fitness or injury have to do with a scandal???
