A lot of those types can play anywhere across the top line. I see Reyna as a player who will not play only one position but be modeled after Reus moving where the coach needs him each game.
Yes he was. In fact, there have been plenty of notable CAMs standing 6 ft or taller: Sócrates, Kaká, Riquelme, Effenberg, Micoud, etc...
How about two to four zeros ? Right now all reyna is, is a potential heart breake. Masochism is the ya way. But let the padawans learn to understand the Dark Side.

Wow! Trying to temper joy, but that is cool. 8 of 11 regular first team players. Gotze up top and Brandt behind him with Witsel. Gio on the left? My guess. I don't know of the other two, but the back line is set. I would like to watch this.
Only Führich keeps his position quite clear, Götze often switches to the wing and Reyna drops.
I've watched a fair amount of Gio Reyna -- he's taken a huge step up in the last 6 months. I can see him getting significant Bundesliga minutes next season.
Nothing spectacular that I saw, but really consistent, solid play. - Didn't get bossed in any 50-50's. Usually won them. - Seldom turned the ball over. When he did it was narrow or had right thought process. Quick one touch decision-making. Held off the opponent and released the ball much quicker off the dribble than a player who shall not be named. - Got involved in the action. Hard to break down Liege's organized d. A couple attackers weren't really at his level, while the others weren't clearly beyond his. Would like him to play a-wing to take players off the dribble. Hard to find space where he is. Has to drop back.
0-0 HT. Reyna played well, kept the ball moving, had a couple of decent off the ball runs. Most importantly, he was not intimidated by the circumstances, and played as if he had been with these guys before.
I hope this can be replayed on ESPN+. Really eager to see him play with some of the regular first teamers.

So they're treating this game like a meaningless friendly, merely a training exercise? Edit: My tracker says that Reyna gave way for Jadon Sancho, so I feel a bit better.
I don't doubt it, but it would seem to be an unfortunate method given the likelihood of injury and loss of player value, both short term and, possibly, long term.
That's how the winter friendlies are treated because that's exactly what they are--meaningless friendlies.
