Yep. And my prayer wasn't meant to denigrate Flores. Just an example of a highly regarded player who didn't pan out. He is still at BvB II, btw.
Is it possible for him to go there now and join the club 3 months ahead of his birthday, on a tourist visa, and then officially sign the contract when he turns 16? Or do FIFA rules strictly forbid even things like that?
I think it’s pretty common for a player in his position to visit for training stints of a week or three. But he’s in a pretty good environment now and his parents are probably not going to panic at the thought of missing a few weeks of training at his age...they both will appreciate the long view, I would think.
Well, he has an EU passport, so he can spend as much time as he likes in Europe without restriction. From looking at previous cases, FIFA only seems to care what happens when the player registers. He would probably be okay to go over early, but him being under 16 might cause some concern. Him enrolling in school would be a good idea all around, since his birthday isn't until November and I assume one parent would probably go over with him at the start.
Bild is reporting that Man City is also pursuing Reyna Jr, but that Dortmund is closer to landing him: Dortmund heiß auf dieses US-Megatalent
That seems like an easy choice. One will treat you as a commodity, the other with love and affection. The difference between a whore and a girlfriend.
Taking a guess here, but Gio's brother Jack died in 2012 at age 13. #10 is their father's number, so it was likely the boys' number as well. It might be a remembrance by Gio. There's no Twitter evidence of #JR10 being any kind of prevalent meme. He doesn't appear to use it regularly.
I'm not a fan of that model of car but then they defiled it and made it even worse. Wow, what were they thinking?

Already known. That article was linked here three months ago. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/gio-reyna-to-europe.2079561/page-2#post-37010746
Played really well for the US U17s last night against Portugal. 1067957058421559296 is not a valid tweet id
He was just straight cl He was just straight clowning some of those Portugese players. He looks like he has a ton of awareness about where his teammates are on the field. Plays with his head up, which is saying something for an American kid his age. Nice touch on the ball, and he seems to have really good technique in tight spaces. I don't know if it's him or the slowness of his defenders around him, but he seems to have a pretty fair turn of pace.
Wow. And I'm reluctant to use the Z word here, but his playing style looks rather Zidanesque to me - at least in that video, anyway. You can see it in that peculiar stuttering dribble. How he looks hunched over and lumbering one moment, before elegantly gliding past multiple opponents the next. Impressive.
