Damn, my last physical said 16% body fat, Stupid COVID. Still, Wes must have been eating a lot of Hot Pockets. I vaguely recall an old joke thread about here maybe 30 years ago.
A lot of it is because back in the day Claudio was one of very, very few Yanks with elite level ability and just about the only one with that ability at CM. On top of that, he didn't reach the heights he could have, not because of character issues but because of the kind of injuries that left him at 90% - still very good at Top 5 level and with enough examples of brilliance to whet the fans' desire for more but nowhere near enough to satisfy.
This is a really long recovery for a hamstring injury that everyone watched but no one noticed. Seems fishy, though I have no idea what it could be nor why anyone would be hiding it.
It's in every article. Why would anyone lie about it? Rose also said a tendon and nerves were affected and there were some rehab setbacks.
And he had tweaked it before the El Salvador game and even got pulled from a Dortmund game early because of it. And then somehow reaggravated in a much worse way against El Salvador. And then there were some unknown setbacks in his recovery. But the good news is we should see him back and playing games fairly soon.
What’s the latest on Gio Reyna? I saw he was training again. Any indication as to when he will be playing again?
According to this article (posted yesterday): https://www.fearthewall.com/2021/12...rtmund-bundesliga-bvb-bayern-munich-klassiker "Saturday might be too soon for him to return, but it’s possible that he could at least make the bench." Would be nice for him to get 10 to 15 minutes this weekend but I am not holding my breath. There is also a CL game coming up for them midweek. <fingers-crossed>. As an aside... I got my DerbyStar 2021-2022 Bundesliga Ball from Amazon today. So excited to try it out. It is so sic.... just got to make sure the kids don't try and play with it on the street. It cost $100 US... so I need to take care of it. But it certainly is a beauty

He didn’t get on the bench for either Der Klassiker or the Besiktas game. Dortmund still have 3 league games before the break.
From today’s press conference: “We still have to have a little patience with Gio Reyna” 🎙 Marco #Rose zum Personal: „Bei Toto #Hazard sieht es gut aus, er ist eine Alternative für den Kader. Donyell #Malen ist krank geworden, hat einen Virusinfekt. Bei Gio #Reyna müssen wir noch ein bisschen Geduld haben.“#BOCBVB— Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) December 9, 2021
In Monday's press conference, Rose said that it would be "a couple of weeks" (German: ein paar Wochen...could also be interpreted as a few weeks) since Gio was still lacking match game-fitness. Based on that plus his more recent statement quoted above, I'd say that this coming weekend is for sure out, next Wednesday against Fürth might also be pushing it, which leaves the following Saturday (Dec. 18) against Hertha as the last chance before the holiday break. If Gio chills till they're back in January, it's not the end of the world.
Where are all the BL games from today on ESPN+? I was away today and come home to find none of them On Demand. WTF?
They had a *lot* of technical issues today. I could only find one match that was up & running most of the time. Fortunately, it was the one where a Yank scored.
Yeah... I go into every BL season just assuming Bayern is going to win. I like watching the BL more than any other league just based on style of play and entertainment value... but the lack of a real race for 1st place every year takes some of the shine out of it.
