Due to the economic crisis the pandemic has caused and if BVB were to miss the bonus from CL, they have drawn up an ‘emergency sales list’. The list includes Sancho, Witsel, Akanji, Dahoud, Reyna, Bellingham, Guerreiro, and Haaland, with the final four being more of a last resort.

Too early to sell Reyna. He remains unproven, and no one is going to pay the $42 million of his current valuation without something to show for it.

Someone might... but it doesn't seem likely. Haaland and Sancho will be gone and the haul should be legit. They need to turn that money around and invest it in a stud CB, RB and new striker. But they won't be able to attract any big names if they don't qualify for Europe. At this point I would give even odds that they even make Europa.... maybe even less than 50/50.

I really don't get why Dortmund keeps selling their star players every damn season. Are they reinvesting it or does their stadium cost a shit ton for upkeep? They should be legit challenging for the title every season.

Their budget depends on selling players. If they don’t sell, the players will play out their contract and sign with Bayern. Then Dortmund will have no money and no players. If they sell they can at least buy new players.

Now that Gio isn't playing I can firmly root against them today. I would like for Schalke to climb out of the basement.

You should root for Dortmund to qualify for CL

I guess... but I think they are going to choke anyways.... no investment on D every year will do it. All else held equal... I root for the team that features a YA and root against the team where the manager sits one.

His form dipped and then Dortmund had their best game in awhile the first time he didn’t see minutes. Unfortunate timing

As someone said earlier, the coach is flailing around trying to find his best lineup. They’ve played a bit better without Gio starting.

Haaland... just sic. BVB's entire offense runs thru him and Sancho. Makes me wonder how they will look next season when they likely lose them both.

They're playing Schalke. Even Reyna would have looked good against Schalke.

They need to sign a good finisher and Reyna will have to step up.

Hard to replace Sancho but it can be done... but Haaland? He is a generational striker. Moukoko might be able to ease the loss a bit but I doubt BVB will have a 9 that dominant. I think whoever is coaching will need to adjust the offense a bit. And if they really want to compete for the BL they will need to find a stud CB and RB.

There will be even less investment on D with no CL and all of the good players with leverage to leave will leave. If you care about what’s best for Reyna, you will root for them.
