Am I the only one worried about Gio's people screwing things up and he ends up with no options as the window closes?
I don't know if circumstances are quite the same as before. Gio's insistence on only playing in Spain when hardly any Spanish teams can afford him doesn't help. But I won't lose faith til after the Winter Window closes.
Different circumstances but similar predicaments. I haven't lost faith either but I'm more worried about the decisions the people around him or he seems to make. Nothing will surprise me this time around.
El Mallorca reduce de 22 a 9 millones su presupuesto http://futbol.as.com/futbol/2013/07/03/segunda/1372866544_051184.htm If Gio stays his salary will be 11.1% of the budget
@TD_Deportes: Villarreal y Mallorca habrían pactado el fichaje de Giovani dos Santos, que sería presentado la próxima semana, http://t.co/HurcNTlIB1
That kinda sucks. Gio should be playing in a top half of the table team, not one that was just promoted. Better than the MLS or second division i guess.
Villarreal is in good financial standings that automatically makes them better than 3/4 of la liga to me. Sevillia, AM, Valencia, Betis, Malaga all got significantly weaker, I see them challenging for Europe if they bring 2-3 more good guys after Gio.
before getting relegated they were in european competition pretty much every year, with no debts and their budget it could be another Malaga or Real Sociedad kind of team, let's be optimistic
Yeah I was hoping he would land in Valencia or something, but it's looking to be Villarreal. I agree with you it beats the hell out MLS and 2nd division though.
I was hoping he would go to Atletico Madrid or Valencia so he could be in the Champions or Europa League but i think Villarreal is still better than being in the second division or the MLS lol. With all that money Villarreal has, maybe they can get a couple of more good players so that they can possibly make it to the Europa League next year.I just hope Villarreal gets some better kits this year cuz i think they have some ugly kits . It will be nice that Gio & Aquino will be together just like HH & Diego Reyes at Porto.
Not to mention them getting relegated was more or less a freak accident as they had been so successful prior to last year. I see Villareal being a mid table team at worst next season. They'll be fine.
Well nothing is set in stone until it's on Villareal's website. Who knows, he might go to one of those teams. He's definitely good enough to be in the XI.

I imagine Aquino doesnt NEED the competion for his position so isnt recruiting as hard as Guardis. I hope he goes to Valencia.
I think its great that he's not going to a euro/champions league team this season. It means he wont have as many games on his legs, he'll be more fresh come WC time, and less likely to be injured
