Yesterday after checking the What’s On TV post, and I noticed that last night we’d be able to watch Real Salt Lake of the MLS taking on Cruz Azul of the FMF in the CONCACAF Champions League. My first thought was, will we get to see Gil, Schuler, or Warner? Well if you follow our Facebook or our Twitter Feed you know what I saw….and maybe you caught some of the game. Yes, thanks for the great experience that both got at AC St Louis. Chris Schuler too showed a lot of improvement this season.
Gil is really something special. He was clearly head and shoulders above the standard D2 player, but doesn't quite have it all together in the MLS. I think he just needs to grow up and get bigger and stronger. I can't imagine him staying in the US for a whole lot longer...but I think it would help him as a player if he waited till his mid 20's to cross the pond.
