I didn't even see the goals. I was so disgusted by the game I went out for a sandwich, and when I came back I saw the score line changed. The only reasonable explanation, I thought, was that we bribed Pletikosa to throw the ball into his own net twice.

USA two point blank misses on goal. Unreal. That is going to come back and hurt us.

Completely understandable, being English and all. But hey, number one in test cricket!

Completely changing topics here, but I think The Frogger might be my favorite episode.

I would rep you for that but I'm out.

Anyone watching Croatia - Latvia? I can't watch it but I have the gametracker on and just saw that Corluka got subbed out for injury. Anyone know what happened? I saw him get whacked in the head and bleed like a stuck pig vs. Greece last week. Now what? Hope it isn't serious.

Double you might have to eat your words. 73rd minute and as it stands Croatia go through in first! Greece would have to equalize or Croatia to eff it up. both entirely possible, though the former more so than the latter.

Eating my own words now! Greece pulled it back, 2-1 with 5 minutes left to play. Croatia 2-0 Latvia.

It better not disrupt Tottenham's good form. This is the thing I don't like about International football

    1) if Tottenham are on good form it could disrupt our form
    2) Tottenham players getting Injured on international duty.

so lets get this international stuff over and done with and get club football back on.

Tough luck for Norway who finished with the same record as Portugal but get eliminated because they didn't run up the score on Iceland and Cyprus.

Portugal results against Iceland and Cyprus

    Portugal 4-4 Cyprus
    Cyprus 0-4 Portugal
    Portugal 5-3 Iceland
    Iceland 1-3 Portugal

that means they conceaded 4 at home against Cyprus and 3 at home against Iceland.

    hardly impressive

I was at school all day, but it didn't surprise me that we went 1-0. Worked out well in the end, because I had zero faith in making it out of the playoffs.

Or you can look at the reverse and say they only conceded 1 at home against Denmark + Norway and say they showed up against the bigger teams.

Or you can also say they played less tense on the road, getting a +6 goal differential which is basically how they pulled through.

On an unrelated note, Pav scored for Russia today.
