Too busy with the ACC Womens Tournament to process photos, so here's some wallpaper to tide you guys over. http://www.ibiblio.org/footy/dcwallpaper.jpg
Thanks Andy. Anyone else kind of disturbed by the mysterious shape in Ryan Nelsen's pants?\ Where are all the gals from the "ATTENTION :: female DCU fans" thread?
Yo Andy, any chance we can hypnotize you to think you will be in RFK next weekend when your actually at the HDC?
Speaking of which, I was just going through some of my old crap and I came upon a Frosted Flakes box from 2k with Tony Meola's fat, ugly face celebrating winning the cup. Think I might take "pi$$ing in someones wheaties" to a whole new level.
I can sit here and trade barbs - like I've never seen Piotr Nowak win one... - but I was trying to be nice. Accept the wallpaper in the spirit it was given.
And yet it's a mightily downsampled version of the original. These newfangled cameras are a wonderful thing.
Well, not all megapixels are created equal. If you're buying a point and shoot, don't get too hung up on number of megapixels. a fair number of sports/news photojournalists are still using Canon D30 and Nike D1h bodies. Both of which are in the 2.7 MP range. The new Nikon D2h and the most common body out there, the three year old Canon 1D (which the original for the wallpaper was shot with) are both 4.1 MP. What seperates them from a lot of point and shoots are the electronics. But it does go both ways. I can take some awesome shots with a disposable camera that would be hard to get with the "pro" camera because of time and space considerations. The other main difference is the glass. The optical clarity and distortion are huge factors that greatly affect things. Both Nikon and Canon sell point and shoot cameras with their top of the line glass, but they're in the $995 range, not the $200-500 range. EDIT: You can get cheap lenses, but your shots will look like crap. The top of the line lenses you see lining the field often cost more than the camera bodies, and they hold their value pretty well. :EDIT --- Of course the newest pro digital cameras have larger sensors. The new Canon 1D Mark II is an 8.2 MP camera (as is its "prosumer" cousin the 20D), and the just announced Nikon D2X is a 12 MP beast. Anybody got a few grand to spare a poor soccer photographer?
