Gibbs with a surprise start after his injury. He went full 90 as left mid in an unlucky 1-2 home loss against Reutlingen. St Pauli was superior throughout the whole game, but did not convert their chances. Reutlingen's coach Wormuth almost excused himself after the game and said that St Pauli had to win this one, but they scored with their two chances. From what I saw Gibbs played pretty well. Three major scenes: 1. throw in Gibbs, two touches later Fabian Gerber hammers the ball into the triangle for the 1-0 2. good assist Gibbs for N'Diaye, who misses a 100% chance 3. excellent cross Gibbs from the left wing to Nascimento, who narrowly heads the ball over the crossbar from about the penalty spot After the game the St Pauli players were pretty down as this might already be a pre-decision in the relegation fight. Three of the next four games are on the road - and these three at the 1st, 2nd and 5th.
Gibbs Gibbs returned from broken ribs and played midfield in a losing effort. http://www.cybersoccernews.com/overthere/030321fri.shtml Anybody know more detail? How did he do in a somewhat novel position? Sign of things to come?
Gibbs rated 3.5 – with one other player best of his team http://www.kicker.de/content/spielp...2/03&spieltag=26&spielpaarung=572691&turnier=
Re: Gibbs Good sign that he played there and great that he did so well. Last season the manager was quoted as saying Gibbs lacked the ability to play on the outside. Hopefully the "sign of things to come" includes that he's really improved his skill and awareness over that last season and a half.
