Gibbs expected to start. St. Pauli is still in the relegation zone with only 4 games left.

Terrible result for St. Pauli. At home, and up 1-0 after 10 minutes and 2-1 after 36 minutes, they concede a 90th minute equalizer to a late Burghausen substitute. 4 points from safety with three games to play.

Gibbs was involved in the first two goals:

1-0 Gibbs with the ball in the own defence, send N'Diaye with a 30 meter pass. N'Diaye plays a double pass with someone else and crosses to the goal scorer in the box.

1-1 Twenty meter shot, Gibbs jumps in and tries to block, but unluckily (and without any blame) deflects the ball in a way that the shot is unsavable for the goalie.

Later on Pauli really begged for getting the goal. They did not do anything and just hoped to rescue themselves over the time - as often, this stupid tactics was punished. In the last minute about six players were in a central position in the own box, but nevertheless the opponent stood their freely and had no problem at all to equalise. At this goal Gibbs was marking his opponent on the left wing in a way that this guy could only pass back, but an easy cross from 40m was too much for the six guys in the center.

Seems like a real shame Olafgb...barring a late season surge (St. Pauli pretty much needs 3 wins now, or maybe 2 wins and a tie w/luck), look like relegation......the shame is that Gibbs seems to really be finding his form/home in the 2nd BL...and be a "rising star" type- with possibilities back to 1st before too long (maybe another club)..

I dunno, it seems like 3rd is a kind of footballer hell....you can be a good player, but be trapped down there w/o options (in Germany, at least) for a while (?)..next couple years are big for Gibbs career- shame if he has to tool around in 3rd during these vital growth year...it will surely affect his Nat team chances...

St. Pauli certainly invented new ways to snatch defeat/ties out of the jaws of victory this year..

Any chance the young man avoid 3rd hell??

Today I read that Gibbs is the only regular starter with a contract for D3. For him it would be best to leave to a promising 2.Bundesliga club, but neither do I know if there are clubs being interested in him nor do I know if St Pauli would let him go.
