Up three games to none. One game away from their 20th Series.

Yomiuri Giants I assume. They once won 9 Japan series in a row (c. 1965-73).

Yes, certainly not the San Francisco version, blowing a 3-2 lead.

That's correct. Giants need only one win to beat Seibu (who themselves have 11 series wins) to win the Japan Series for the record 20th time.

This is the 6th time the Giants have taken a 3-0 lead in the Series. However, in 1958 they blew a 3-0 series lead to, you guessed it, Nishitetsu Lions who later became Seibu Lions.

I saw a couple of the games of this series on Taiwan television. Series really has been as lopsided as the 3-0 lead indicates. When is game four by the way? Is it tonight? I didn't see it in today's listings in Taiwan.

    Thanks.

Yes, game 4 is tonight (Wednesday) and game 5, if necessary, is Thursday.

Have they talked about either Matsui?
The rightfielder (?) for the Giants and the shortstop for the Lions are both considered Major League prospects and the Yankees are rumored to be preparing to bid for the Giants' Matsui.

To the surprise of no one, Yomiuri Giants sweep Seibu Lions to win a record 20th Japan Series. Seibu has now lost five straight Japan Series it has appeared in.
