I dunno why, but when I see a USASA team advance in the Cup, I want to root for them. Underdogs is what this tourney is all about. But I'm also rooting for a full on Fire v Fire Reserves open cup tie.
When a USASA team beats a PDL team, is that an upset? I guess it depends on the team but they are both at the lowest level possible in this tournament.
I'd say it's a small upset. The PDL teams are comprised mostly of college players, and they can devote more time to practice and training than the USASA players, who often have to take time off from their regular jobs to travel to away cup matches.
