Agreed...he had some moments where he picked a good pass and dribbled nicely out of some very heavy pressure. Venezia really are bad though. Hope Busio can show enough this season that a mid to lower table Serie A club will give him a shot next season. Early on it looks like they going right back down
Busio starts! Venezia (20th, last) hosting Genoa (11th). It’s still very early in the season, but these are the games you need to win to avoid relegation.
Busio drew a pen (involved in the build up too) and scored a lucky goal where the the keeper appeared to see it way too late. He's a Serie A player and will not be playing in Serie B anytime soon.
2 promoted team and Busio is at a higher level than the others on the field. 'Lucky goal' yeah, it was a pass to the far post that just missed the striker attacking diagonally from right to left, then bounced in off the post (I feel like the gk had to play the pass first, then couldn't recover). But that's why the far post pass is so dangerous. Busio karma for the missed pk by Pohjanpalo (decent, not great, attempt, but good save).
Yep, kind of like the weird goal that Steffen conceded in the qualifier against Costa Rica; the keeper has to play the odds and can't be in two places at once. But if you create a situation where the keeper has to make that bad choice, you've done well as an individual and team. So I wouldn't call it 100% luck.
I saw this on the shot map on Fotmob and thought "oh nice, that must've been a great goal!" They all count, anyway.

Hit the post with a sweet shot. Venezia scored in the ensuing scramble to lead 1-0 at the half away to Roma. 1840387880679608487 is not a valid tweet id
I tuned in just in time to see Busio’s heel create a wicked deflection for the equalizer and then Romas go ahead goal. So my fault. Venezia’s choices with the ball when I watched for 5 minutes were terrible. Many MLS teams are better at possession under pressure.
I just watched a bit. Busio had good dribble in the 2nd half down the right seam that led to one of Venezia's better chances. Not sure if it was him with the weak back-pass that got intercepted - was too lazy to go back and check. Neither team looked exceptionally together, but Verona, when I watched, was more cohesive. Venice does not look like a team destine to stay up on current form. Need to get a bit more going on.
If Venezia doesn't stay up Busio will have to be sold. Might be playing with Pulisic next season. Btw, it feels like I've been watching this dude play forever.
