This piece today stating that Parma is still interested in Busio, who they believe would be easier to acquire than Tessmann (in whom they are also interested): https://www.parmalive.com/mercato/s...ta-busio-e-sempre-un-idea-dei-crociati-222644
easier to acquire, for me a higher upside, and despite being around seemingly forever, 8 months younger than Tessman
According to this piece Verona coach Paolo Zanetti is and admirer of Busio and interested in bringing him to the club. Meanwhile, the interest from Parma continues as well.
A report that Roma is interested in Busio: https://www.notiziecalciomercato.eu/calciomercato/venezia-di-francesco-roma-busio/
Just like the US fan base. He will feel right at home. On a serious note, I don’t think he’s good enough for Roma. That is too big a step up.
Venezia's sporting director, Filippo Antonelli, from a press conference today: "The Olympics? Clearly it could serve as a shop window, and we wanted to give them a chance to play in the tournament. Tessmann will probably leave, but Busio should stay. He feels a strong connection to us. I think he still wants a season where he plays a leading role. The young man has progressed a lot, perhaps even more than Tessmann." https://www.trivenetogoal.it/2024/0...r-gytkjaer-e-joronen-nessuna-chiamata/214404/
From Matteo's LinkedIn, it seems he was done with Venezia in February. when he completed his graduate degree and his position as intern/scout for Venezia. Now he's just an agent for Octagon.
Hopefully doesn't affect his start to the Serie A season: USMNT hit with Busio injury blow in Olympic match vs. New Zealand
According to this piece, Busio arrived back in Venice from the Olympics "not in the best condition". He will be evaluated over the next few days to assess his fitness for Venezia's Serie A opener away to Lazio on August 18. https://www.lalaziosiamonoi.it/rass...a-della-lazio-due-titolari-infortunati-208746
Venezia is hopeful Busio will be back after the first Serie A game of the season: https://www.trivenetogoal.it/2024/0...lema-muscolare-lo-stop-non-sara-lungo/215824/
I think "la prima sosta di campionato" means "the first break of the championship", which is the first international break. So, probably out until the first week of September.
That's right. I had been looking at another piece that was more hopeful of an early return, but now they're all stating he won't be fit before September.
