That's irrelevant. There is nothing wrong with Hoppe either. He is playing differen position, and has different strengts. Done well at GC. The ways of GB are unpredictable.

This guy is on my radar screen now. I'll be watching Venezia's next match.

Hoppe didn't play after the gold cup... that's why he didn't get called in on the last set of qualifiers. To be fair, outside of the start against Real Madrid, he still hasn't gotten much game time.

I've lived in this country a long time, long enough to recognize when there's bad faith in their dealings with racial issues. And this article doesn't fit into that category.

Venezia plays at home on Monday against Fiorentina. Maybe we should name that match "La Turista." Hope Busio gets minutes

Roma is my Serie A team, going back to the Bradley days.
Bryan Reynolds is going nowhere fast there, so it's good to have another interest.

Busio is the guy whose post MLS development I am most excited to see, because he is the guy who most needed to hone the type of game that he is most adept at outside of MLS. He also would not have gotten the type of training he needs in the PL or France. His game is suited to the Pirlo-type style and Italy is the perfect place. So unlike many players, whom posters reflexively say got better the moment they boarded a plane to Europe, I see Busio ACTUALLY growing into his role immediately, week to week -- and it is a beautiful sight. And to be clear, I am one of those people who was on the fence about how effective Busio would be, so I am happily eating a bit of crow right now.

Busio has been playing very well, in the first half.

Beautiful hockey assist from Busio. Perfect curling ball around the defender right to the forwards feet to beat the offsides. Really nice piece of play. Didn't get a ton of touches in the 1st half... but his defensive positioning has improved a lot over the last two months. Had a great tackle near the touchline as well in this one. Still wish he was a smidge faster but the guy still has a lot of talent.

Busio, now that he is getting some PT, is beginning to emerge as the best American in Serie A.

And he plays a role that many teams are going to want if he continues to develop. Including the USMNT!

    Great work on that goal.

And as a Juve fan I hate to admit it, but Venezia's kits may be the best in Serie A.

We have to get rid of the design scourge that is Adi-Das.

I would love to go to that stadium. It is actually located on the island of Venice.

Verona's is cool too, about an hour's train ride west.

Adidas is awful. Kappa is by far the best IMO. I loved when Bremen had Kappa circa 2004-2011.

The 2 Kappa kits on display in this game are both better than any Adi kit I have seen all year.

And Fiorie's purple home kit is sweet also.

For those unfamiliar with Serie A, Venezia is second from bottom. They hardly play like a second from bottom team in most leagues.

Venezia going to shut up shop it looks like with these subs.

My how Caldara has fallen down the pecking order.

What a big 3 points for Venezia. Every 3 points for a relegation battler just feels so so big.
