Ok, so I ran Antiy Ghostbusters on my machine and discovered two versions of the JS.Geovisit worm thing on my computer.

From doing a quick google search I discovered....not much, other than this is possibly a stealth worm used by govt/police agencies to track people's internet usage (I don't know whether to believe that, exactly, but anything's possible, especially in this world). The question is - can I get the frigging thing off manually, or do I have to stump up the 40 bucks for the full version of AGB so it'll do it for me?

I have Ad-aware already and it doesn't catch these things - Ghostbusters is the only one that has so far, but I haven't paid for the full version.

I simply suggest a good anti-virus program. And when I mean good, I mean one that you pay for. To get these things to work right, sometimes you have to spend some money (not to knock free versions). I use Norton and scan my machine weekly to check for "bugs".

I have that also, and it ALSO does not detect these bugs.

Nor does McAfee, which came installed on my machine.

I guess I have no choice but to install Antiy.

there doesn't appear to be a lot of info about this virus/worm thing. google only returns 2 pages of results. is this a legit problem or just antiy trying to move product?

    That's not true.

I can assure you there are much less intrusive methodolgies for tracking web usage, and for that matter, unencrypted email, that are already in place.
