In the first leg clash at Singapore, Geylang United took a 3-0 lead going into the return leg in Brunei. Two goals were scored by Mohd Noor Ali and a third was added by Australian international Aleksander Duric.

The winner of the two leg series will advance to the third round of East Asian qualifying for the group stage in March.

I thought you were talking about UEFA Champions League! But then I saw the link. I forgot this tourney even existed. Who are the favorites, the K/J/C teams?

Tell me about it. Then again, the full name of the national capital is 'Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darusalam'.

Things looking up for Brunei in soccer

The result is actually not too bad for the Brunei club. It was only in the last couple of years that soccer has been emphasized for improvement in this tiny country of under 300,000 people.

Bothwell - From Brunei to Geyland

    Bothwell's homecoming...

... should be interesting, considering he was a key contributor to 'Hornets' (1995-99), also known as the national team during those days of being the ONLY Brunei team. Now that Brunei has the B-League, I'm wondering how many teams are left in the world that have only one club within their boundaries, culminating in particpation in another league, i.e. the Kings from New Zealand playing in the Australian soccer league.
