Getting to the Fire game is half the fun And the other half is sitting with a bunch of lively fans Story in the Trib. Useful Beer Bus Information
The Fire FO probably loves this kind of publicity, but I wonder what they think about the flares. Officially they're against them, but unofficially they would be idiots not to realize the benefit of Section 8 and even the flares have to draw on new fans (out of interest, curiosity, intrigue, etc) to the game for both the soccer and the experience. I understand there's a liability for the stadium and the team, but there seems like there could be some acceptable, meaningful solutions btwn the FO and the ISA when acts occur. . . something outside of banning people for life if they're caught with flares.
Very good PR, yeah. And the last time I hung out with someone from the Fire FO, they went on about how cool the flares were and then showed me pictures of them. Cool stuff.
Correction. Getting to the Fire game is half the fun, spending time with your "beau" is the other half. Kidding......nice to have an article like that written about the experience.
Sounds like fun. Only problem I had with the article was that she kept on saying "Beau". What was that all about?
Maybe she is dating Beau Bridges? Good article, helps generate interest. So WCW runs the tailgate, not Section 8? or just that day? I saw the article in the print edition, and it's amusing that the accompanying photo in print is different than online.
No, Section 8 Chicago runs it. WCW just advertises it as their own which is somewhat unethical. They do encourage people to tip though, which is all we ask. We've got a bus going as well so you can get to the game with us tomorrow: http://store.section8chicago.com
I read this in the paper yesterday. Great PR, great great great. Bunge have you ever invited any media types to a game in S8? I wonder if any columnists, or sports radio guys would be interested in doing that and maybe leading a chat or 2. Maybe not, who knows. Maybe that's more the job of the fire PR team and not you guys to make that kinda offer.
Yeah, I have and other people do as well. Sometimes it turns into an article, other times they don't show. Long, slow climb. I have a feeling the new VP of Communications (Becky Carroll) is responsible for this connection. As far as I can tell she's pushing hard to get into the papers and it's working.
