[American-born Zak] Whitbread was so anxious to find a club and pay his mortgage, he flew to America 48 hours after the birth of his son in the summer to train with MLS side New England. Someone needs to get Zak employed in the US so he can get his son that US passport that he is otherwise not eligible for right now.

Based on circumstantial evidence around the timing and logistics, it looks like Fabian Espindola's son Jayko was born in SLC back in 2012. The couple also had a daughter born this past week, probably in DC area.
Interesting to learn that Christian Fuchs of Leicester met his Romanian-American wife on one of those summer tours, this one with Schalke: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...s-draft/?postshare=2761462198236027&tid=ss_tw They have a young son and he plans to live in the US when he's done playing.
My source close to FC Dallas U16 '00 Jesus Ferreira he will be eligible to play for US sooner than later, and he is willing to wait #usynt— Joey (@USAprospects) May 17, 2016
For those that want more info on this youngster, here's an article from September. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/...eiras-son-jesus-earning-high-praise-fc-dallas I'm really bullish on this kid. He's fantastic. Here's also a recent column on bigdsoccer about future homegrown signings. http://www.bigdsoccer.com/2016/5/16/11668542/next-fc-dallas-homegrown-player 5. Jesus Ferreira - It's crazy to think the U-16s are even better than FCD's U-18s at their age, but they are. You all recognize this name. Yes, he is the son of former MLS MVP and FCD midfielder, David Ferreira. He's even younger than Pomykal and the forward is absolutely tearing it up in the USSDA. I don't see him getting signed this year, but he will be signed. It's just a matter of when.
I have a question that's kind of related .... how many US players come from families where dad and mom played soccer at a reasonably high level? Pulisic mom and dad each played collegiate soccer, I've read. Are there others?
As an American with some Colombian heritage I would be happy to see Ferreira become a star for the National team!
Michael Emenalo, former Nigerian World Cup player and now technical director at Chelsea, is married to American Erin Fahey, former goalkeeper for the Washington Freedom in WUSA. They appear to be raising three young boys in the UK.
Interesting. She must live in Virginia part time then as she is listed as the women's GK coach for VT soccer.
I saw that, but it seems a bit dated since it says "this past summer, she married..." I found other links that show her there in 2005 or so. Looking at her Twitter & Instagram account, it seems she mostly is in England, which would make sense. Note: And I think the middle boy in named "Landon."
If one of these kids actually turn out to be good players.....then someone like Darren Rovell future tweet: 'Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has been talked about in American soccer circles since the day he was born'
Englishman Matt Jones, backup GK with the Philadelphia Union, and his American wife had a son this week. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/...-jones-new-dad-new-philadelphia-union-starter He and his wife Megan make another of those soccer couples as she played at Sacred Heart while he did. http://www.sacredheartpioneers.com/sports/w-soccer/mtt/wosleger_megan00.html
Paul Dalglish, son of Scottish legend Kenny and a former Houston Dynamo player & coach himself, found an American wife while there. They have 5 year old twins.
Christian Fuchs talked about his desire for his US-born son to play in Europe and for Austria (at about the 31 minute mark): https://sports.vice.com/en_us/video...rance-euro-2016-semifinal-look-ahead-to-final

This may be obvious, but Clint Dempsey has four young children, including two sons; the older one is probably about age 6 and the younger one is confirmed as age 1. EDIT: well, looked it up and actually it was Clint's grandparents, not his parents, who were Irish immigrants to America. So I don't think his kids are eligible for Ireland. Still, obviously worthy of a US national team baby watch.
Tim Cahill joined NYRB in 2012. His younger son, Cruz, born on Sept. 2, 2012. I can't find any information on where exactly Cruz was born. One indirect way to look into that is to find where his then-pregnant wife, Rebekah, was living during the first season he was with NYRB (i.e. was she in the US or elsewhere), but I can't find that either. Perhaps a NYRB fan and/or someone with better sleuthing skills can look into this one.
