That was my introduction to German soccer, actually the only soccer program on TV here in the US. I was 8 or 9 when I first saw it. In a few weeks, my buddies and I would stop whatever we were doing on Saturday afternoon and sit down to watch it. Great stuff.
Everyone questioned Nagelsmann for playing Havertz as a CF when he was clearly doing nothing there, but Nagelsmann said he was interpreting his role well, whatever the fvck that meant.
Yes - The european leagues were way more competitive during the 80s as well. The italian thing was a bubble caused by waelthy owners pumping in money and I recall was one of the first satellite tv hype trains. We got SKY in our student flat for peanuts in order to watch that AC Milan side.
I gave him SOME slack for WC22 when he was 23 y/o as we were shit but never saw him as good enough for CF, even before that shift. He legit doesn't think, move or act like a CF. All I ever saw of Havertz at CF is similar to what one sees when a false 9 is played, LOL. His only good game in WC22 was when he played off Fullkrug vs Costa Rica. That was already a BIG sign too that it wouldn't look good if we keep forcing him at CF. but in comes a new coach and continues the fixation with Havertz at CF. Sad to see how we get 3 back to back coaches and they all think alike and do the same shit over and over and over, LOL. sucks that the MAIN weak point of EC24 was 100% Havertz. We finally had a functional team and we sacrificed that tourney for him. honestly Fullkrug should have been XI for both WC22-EC24 instead of Havertz. But its clear that since Germany considers Havertz a "top talent" while Fullkrug is just some "random late bloomer CF" there was like 0 interest in playing him. Again what happened with Klose the desire to shaft the non so called Elite Talent and focus on the so called "potential star". Pretty stupid as Fullkrug in his 1st and ONLY European footy season he played MAJOR role in dragging BVB to a RARE CL Final and almost scored in final vs Real too. On top of him impressing and being a finisher in both WC22-EC24 when he did play. He showed that he can be a difference maker in International footy just lacking the hype. Nagelsmann was basically saying the same shit that Flick was. Oh Havertz is so good etc, he does this and that well but NEVER scores and we always look like 10 men with him because he moves like an AM. He's NEVER where he should be positioning wise, never showed that CF instinct and movement...............and I don't give a shit about whatever he does a Arsenal, 0 to do with NT. From NT perspective, he's been a HUGE flop at CF. Fullkrug between injuries and forced EPL move now seems on downtrend. We basically missed OUT on using him while the iron was still hot. BUT reality even if he was doing well (still very early in season only September), Nagelsmann is NOT gonna play him, its clear as daylight he NEVER rated him. 2 tourneys for any player is still a LOT, what a waste, that we did not much with him. now we really need Kleindienst to get fit again, otherwise I worry, Havertz will make a return to XI at CF......
Antonio Rüdiger will be sidelined for around 3 months with injury [@AranchaMOBILE]🇩🇪 That means he would miss the remaining 4 games of Germany's World Cup qualifying campaign pic.twitter.com/YNHFbHqXDJ— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) September 12, 2025 uh, when did he get injured.......and our injury issues continue.......
Woltemade 1st XI in EPL=1st goal!!!! 🚨🏴 WOLTEMADE OPENS THE SCORING FOR NEWCASTLE!Newcastle 1-0 Wolves.pic.twitter.com/ua0GXrrXo4— Tekkers Foot (@tekkersfoot) September 13, 2025
Selke would easily be EPL leading scorer if he was at that bum league. followed by EPL Top scorer and European Golden Shoe come Summer......he's that good!!!
if someone wants a good laugh as laughing is good for you. Woltemade in EPL has already outscored Pengland CFs of Watkins (was in SNT in September), Lewin, Solanke, Abraham (I mean he's in Turkey, LOL). Wilson has scored once in 4 games and more game time too. so outside of Kane, crickets from Pengland CFs. Woltemade is younger than all of them too. been saying for AGES, that NT, take out Kane, there is NOTHING, he just gives illusion that they are strong at CF and because of that they get slack for a very weak pool in position.
I know he has had some controversies but Nmecha is Dortmund's best midfielder. They look a better team when he plays. Adeyemi impressing in CL yet again.
Yup, for my money he was the best Dortmund player (besides kobel perhaps). Beier didn't do too badly either.
isn't basically all of his controversies like he's basically a far right Christian type....And things like he's NOT pro LGBT or whatever....like show me where its a crime if one doesn't support that community. Germany should be embarrassed that we threw away WC22 for that topic too. And they LIED too, kept saying its NOT a political statements its us being Social Justice Warriors, then post WC22 they admitted that it WAS POLITICAL, LMAO. like who cares it has 0 to do with footy, same for his beliefs, he can believe whatever he wants, focus ON THE FIELD ONLY.
Atubolu is still wants to become Germany #1 and also wants to make WC26 too. Seems unlikely unless he has crazy season, he's looking like 5th choice after ter Stegen, Baumann, Nubel, Dahmen. also Especially at the beginning of his career, he was often compared to former national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (39), https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/...ubolus-opa-aufgeregt-68c5d4cdf313976149c6eba5 LOL he's more like Trapp than Neuer.
The problem is that Nmecha is very anti-LGBT, which contradicts BVB's stance. IIRC they had him delete his most incendiary social media posts, but he still holds firm in his views. I don't like Nmecha's views, so my position on him is that he helps the team win any points.
the problem with that is that its BS POV. A religious person whether Christian, Muslim etc ain't gonna support LGBT. You can't force somebody to go against their convictions and beliefs or paint them as villains for not doing so. But liberalism is a plague that tries to force everyone in agreeing with their POV. Religious people fear God over anything. honestly, nobody can take any German club seriously, LOL. ALMOST all German clubs back in 2023 and 2024 bullied and harrassed any and ALL players for supporting Palestine over Israel and they bullied them into being quiet. With loads of players getting threatened that they will be kicked out. Mainz kicked out El Ghazi for being pro-Palestine and he won suit against them too. Bayern MADE HUGE fit against Mazraoui because he hurt the feelings of Peretz (Israeli) for being pro-Palestinian, LOL. In Islam their is a concept called Ummah, not supporting your fellow Muslims is considered essentially traitorous. He ain't gonna support anyone else to make a fit otherwise is nonsensical, LOL. Heck one of reason why so many 1BL-2BL clubs ditched twitter/X and went on bluesky is because they were triggered by the Anti-Israel reactions, that twitter X is too free speech for their liking, LOL. fastforward and today UN calling it genocide......akward. but my point is the DOUBLE standard and hypocrisy. not being pro-LGBT gets clubs and German footy triggered while German clubs on a WHOLE were supporting a Genocide and silencing anyone who wasn't.
Pavlovic has rebrokenthrough Bayern XI after some injury issues. surely Nagelsmann needs to recall him in October.
As you pointed out to me in a previous post, pavlovich was still in recovery/getting match fit. I have no doubt he's in Nagelsmanns plan and will be called up.
