Where are the yellow cards for the orange guys? Oh wait.. the referees wow xD Seriously, some hilarious stuff there
2-2 FT, deserved D at end of day but LOL Havertz could have been the hero..... ref is shit, LOL he whistles to end the match and could have shot on goal from that....
Pretty good performance, away draw v main group rival puts us in a good position. Thought Undav was good, nice we have another CF option rather than false 9. Pavlovic is gonna be a starter very soon, very composed. ref was shit
Agree on the ref, I can't recall a ref calling an end to a match with the opposition having potential opportunity to score. Really disappointed in Germany performance. Germany was ineffective in the second half, lots of long balls and couldn't really control the mid field. The Dutch did a good job of gegenpressing, saw very little of that from Germany. In the second half Germany looked more like a low block counter team than what I would expect from a German team. The yellow cards will probably cost Germany first place. Looked like Wirtz lost his cool towards the end. Nagelsmann should have done a better job of preparing the defence.
Sure you weren't watching a different game. Ok, we had a few lapses. But to say we resorted lie block tactics is wide off the mark.
According to the Dutch forum, the Italian referee was in charge of 14 games with dutch participants and only once the Dutch team lost. With a last minute goal. Tells a bit I guess.
LOL 50 - Germany conceded their fastest goal (Reijnders after 1:39 min) since 50 years, when Johan Neeskens scored also for the Netherlands against Germany at the World Cup 1974 after 1:26 min. Who gives a shit about Arsenal and where he plays there. We need efficient and cold finishers to play CF.........................................and that ain't him.
I dont see how Havertz starts to be honest once Gruda or we have another breakthrough out and outwinger. As for the CAM, wirtz was Bundesliga player of the season in that position, so surely he has to play there. ---------------------------fullkrug-------------------- Musiala--------------wirtz-----Gruda/wanner
Two discussions ended, Pavlovic uses his chance The winners and losers of the two international matches The first international double of the new tournament cycle has been played, Germany is first in Nations League Group A3 with four points. Time for an initial interim assessment and a look at the winners and losers of the restart. National coach Julian Nagelsmann must have been satisfied as he set off home on Wednesday morning. The restart after the home European Championship was a success - although four long-standing pillars of the DFB team, Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gündogan and Thomas Müller, announced their retirement in recent weeks. Nagelsmann then deliberately refrained from making any further radical changes and put his trust in the players against Hungary (5-0) and in the Netherlands (2-2) who helped to spark a new euphoria around the German national team at the home European Championship in the summer. After the first 180 minutes of the 2024/25 international season, the first winners have been determined - and also the first losers. The winners: Marc-André ter Stegen: The new number 1 in the German goal showed confident performances against Hungary and in the Netherlands and did not exude the slightest hint of nervousness. That was important - for the keeper, his team and the public. With his calm and confidence, he did not allow any doubts to arise about the correctness of Nagelsmann's decision. His status is cemented - and rightly so. Joshua Kimmich: The Munich player never lacked ambition. On the contrary: it often seemed as if he had almost too much of it in him and was therefore in danger of wanting to do too much on his own and thereby overdoing it. Can someone like that be a good captain? Nagelsmann answered this question with a clear yes - and Kimmich confirmed the decision with two good performances in which he was also able to prove his sporting value on the right side of defense. Not only because he scored against the Netherlands to make it 2-1. What applies to the goalkeeper question therefore also applies to the captaincy question: discussion over. Aleksandar Pavlovic: The Munich youngster would have already been at the European Championships if he had not had to leave due to illness shortly before the opening game against Scotland. Nagelsmann brought him back for the two games at the start of the Nations League and put his trust in him as a substitute in both games - which Pavlovic knew how to use immediately. Despite being only 20 years old, he showed astonishing calm, composure and routine, but also courage. Sooner rather than later, there will be no way around him in the German control center if he can maintain this form. The losers: The ones who have fallen behind are mainly those who were not present at the two international matches. With the exception of Antonio Rüdiger, who is undisputed as the head of defense, and Leroy Sané. Because at least when he is in top form, there is no way around the Munich speed dribbler as an important squad member and alternative to the offensive trio of Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz and Florian Wirtz. A return to the illustrious circle of the national team will be much more difficult for all those who were not part of the European Championship. Nagelsmann's team has found its feet, on the pitch, but above all off the pitch. This means that the current group is getting closer and closer together - and the call for external reinforcements is not even heard. No good news for Munich's Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka or Dortmund's Niklas Süle and Julian Brandt. They will have to cause quite a stir in their clubs to qualify for a nomination again. https://www.kicker.de/die-gewinner-und-verlierer-der-beiden-laenderspiele-1050334/artikel Thank God no more Kimmich at M and we do need Pavlovic in M because otherwise this current M is pretty old. also this basically confirms that the 95-96 Germans have been a HUGE L when it comes to NT outside of CC17.......eh 1 trophy out of them is better than 0.
Yeah great summary above - so what now - I think Beier needs more time … maybe Adeyemi would also be a good option to add to our attacking players . Thought our attacking players options where a bit limited coming off the bench . Rudiger was missed in defence yesterday wonder if players like Thiaw / Bissek or Bella Kotchap will break through . Kimmich brilliant at right back and that where he needs to stay . good to know we have Pavlovic as an option in CM - not sure about Can though . Game was high energy and intense so happy with the draw - shows we need to improve but on a good track
i agree on the midfield and i think Nagelsmann will want it younger. but it’s ok to have one older guy there in Andrich. He’s a bit slower but he does a lot of work.
Mittelstädt could be rated as loser, too. He started for the Euros and was the only player of the lot who hasn't seen action this International break. When Raum got off, Henrichs took his place.
I'm not convinced with Andrich. What I've noticed is he's not press resistant. In the November games, I'd start stiller with Pavlovic and wirtz as the CAM. With Musiala and hopefully A fit Gruda wide .
What i most like is this team is fun to watch again and we are discussing about which good players should start. Only a bit over a year ago it was always about which failures needed to be kicked out, which was a seemingly endless series of purges that went nowhere 2018-2023 can go in the bin
His career pathway stagnated to a point where he's become predictable at a ordinary level. Once teams work you out, it's up To the player to keep improving to stay ahead. Unfortunately for Goretzka he hasn't.
career failure? he was an XI when Bayern won every club trophy. He was also very good at CC17 and won that. Not sure how he has career failure, LOL. I think its also issue that he was never a good fit with Ms like Kimmich or Laimer types and fit better someone like Thiago as M partner. he started to stagnate once paired with Kimmich everywhere whether Bayern or Germany. he needs to leave Bayern in Winter and reinvent himself. Shame because he was always pretty good with Germany and always an attacking threat.
Not so much resorted to lowblock tactics deliberately but the Dutch pressing in the first 15 minutes or so of both halves made it difficult to move the balls out of our half of the field, so basically a lot of desperate clearances.
i agree he has been successful up until around 2 years ago. but he ls gone into a rough spell when he should have been at his peak. i agree he needs a change and it probably hasn’t helped that bayern has been a dumpster fire.
